Note from shop owner You may have noticed our Super Hero Power of Invisibility……..

Sometimes life tells you to slow down, maybe it is God’s voice, or the Universes, or just dumb luck but it always has a way of letting you know you need to stop and take a breath. Sometimes it speaks in a whisper, sometimes it speaks in a shout, and other times it uses a mega phone.

We have had lots of whispers and shouts this year, whooping cough, broken bones, floods, IEP battles, finding out we had 2 months to find/buy/move to a new house/workshop, gas leaks, infestations, and realizing too late that we had moved to the only house/studio space where it is literally impossible to get internet.

Then this fall when we thought all the challengers where slowing down and things could get back to “normal”, we lost someone very special, someone we were not ready to let go of, someone we loved and that encouraged us to “keep on keeping on” when things got rough or seemed impossible. That was our Mega Phone.

This life we have built for ourselves and our kiddos has kept us close to them when they needed us, but it has also stolen moments that shouldn’t have been given up. It has brought so much joy to our family and kids around the world but it also has meant that we sacrifice life most precious gift….time.

So this year, we have decided to press pause, to re-evaluate, to grow, to listen, to breath, to play, to take time back, and to LIVE.

The season of 2017/2018 will not include Super Hero Capes. This season WILL include climbing trees, doing jigsaw puzzles, making new friends, reading books to small people, running through fields of grass, singing at the top of our lungs, going on adventures to explore new places, learning ASL, doing crafts, watching birds, helping out at schools, breathing in fresh air, not feeling hurried, late, busy or behind. This season we will enjoying the loud giggles, spills, forgotten homework, squabbles, and antics that are part of our young family. This year will be about the Wolfe Pack.

This year has been and will continue to be spent soaking up what matter the most and the time we can’t get back if we miss it.

We encourage you to do the same! Make a costume, Make a gift, Make the time you spend be the present you give to the little one you love. Do what matters the most and enjoy the breath of air that comes with not being hurried.

If you need a cape this year I highly recommend you check out all the amazing shops on Etsy Making Super Hero capes! They are full of creative, kind, talented, wonderful makers that will have you looking and feeling SUPER!

A Mom and Pop Shop

Brian and I (Alyssa) have been married since 2002. In the first few years of our marriage we tried to do all kinds of things together. We tried running, cooking, hiking, white water rafting, photography, swimming, board games, all manner of things we could do together. However, most of those things ended with me being bruised (i will never be the athlete in the family). The two of us are so different we couldn't ever find anything we enjoyed doing together until Pip and Bean.

While Brian was in Grad school getting his PhD in 2009 Pip and Bean was born out of necessity. Our daughters had a birthday party to go to and we had no money to get the kid a gift. I decided I was going to make their little friend a Superhero cape. At the time I didn't even know how to thread a machine but I could draw and I was desperate. It took me forever to make that first cape and it involved a lot of cursing at the machine and fabric but, it was a hit with the birthday boy and all his friends. After the party I got requests to make more for our other friend's kids and before we knew it I had to learn how to get good with that sewing machine. Then Brian encouraged me to open a shop with the promise that he would help with all the "numbers". It didn't take us long to realize that the one thing we could do well together was run a small business. The ways we were different were what made us a strong team. He is a number cruncher and I am the creative flare that makes this little shop work.

That was thousands of capes ago.
I can make the heck out of a cape now, but don't ask for curtains unless you want them to look like superman hung his cape over your windows.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

YES we can do color combinations that are not pictured in the shop!

However, they do take longer then the 3-7 business days that our "on stock" color combinations take.

We only accept custom color orders January-August. We focus all our attention in the fall on getting out Holiday orders using capes that we have on the shelf and ready to go out.

All our emblem capes are personalized! We have options in just a letter, a full name, nickname or monogram.

Care instructions

For the longest life of your cape we suggest hand washing in cold water with a mild detergent and then allowing the cape to hang dry. If you have a really bad super hero spill contact us and we are happy to help walk you through ways to clean the stain off your cape.

Gift wrapping and packaging

We DO offer gift wrapping or a gift message in with your cape! Leave a note in the section of check out marked "notes to pip and bean" about what you would like your note to say and we are happy to add that for you!

Neck Closure

All our capes have a velcro closure for a safe easy release!

Superhero sizing

Our Standard size cape that we carry on stock and ready to go at all times is 26 inches long. This is a great size to grow with your little one! It starts off long (mid calf length) on a three year old but will fit your child till they are 8-10 years old (waist length)!

Additional Sizes

We also carry a shorter version at 23 inches which is a great length for a toddler.

Our smallest size is our 18inch infant cape. This is a great cape for a "babies first cape" Hospital photo!

And if you are an adult that wants in on the fun we also carry adult Large and Medium capes!

**Please note that the production time on all capes that are not our "standard size" is different then the 3-7 business days. Feel free to convo us for current turn around times on these sizes.

Where is my package?

Your order of a standard on stock cape will go out in 3-7 business days. If you have purchased in our peak time Sept-December the time could be closer to the maximum of the 7 days.

When your cape ships you will get an email from us to the email address you provided on your order with a USPS tracking number.

You can use that tracking number on the USPS website tracking to watch your cape along the way.

If you have any concerns or questions at all about your order feel free to contact us.

Can You ship my order to a different address

We ship to the address that you put into Etsy when purchasing. However, if you let us know right away that this is the incorrect address we will do our best to change it for you if the package has not shipped yet. During peek time Sept-Dec this can cause your package to be delayed so if you need to change your address after your purchase is made please be aware it can effect your turn around time.

If you would like your order shipped directly to the recipient of the cape (and they do not live in your household) you can put their address into etsy check out so we have it- just make sure to leave a note on the order so we know it is a gift and can leave out all purchasing info.

Feel free to contact us anytime about shipping questions!

How do I find what I am looking for quickly

Need something quick- search by color! There is a search box on the upper right side of the shop that you can type the color of cape you are looking for into and all the options we have in that color in all our designs will pop up!

Another, helpful search tool is our "sections" on the left side of the shop.
