So happy with my new earrings! Just as they are pictured. Arrived very quickly, in lovely, careful packaging. And very pleased that they are "environmentally-friendly" earrings too. Thank you Pip!

About

Original jewellery made from plants

I'm a nature lover and have always held a passion for environmental issues. It is for these reasons that I felt it was important to make more environmentally responsible choices with my store. Pip and the Sea uses a sustainable, plant-based eco-resin. This wonderfully tactile resin uses the by-products of the paper pulp and bio-fuels industries, turning waste into something beautiful! It is a high quality resin that will maintain its colour clarity over time. It is not based on petroleum fossil fuels as traditional resins are. I like to think of it as a kind of gorgeous tree sap.

Photo Bracelet story...
The Pip and the Sea story began with my photo bracelets.

I have always been a keen jewellery maker, as well as an enthusiastic hobby-photographer.

More recently I became addicted to taking Instagram photos on my phone (you can follow Pip and the Sea on Instagram). Inspired by some of these shots, I started to experiment with putting pictures into resin jewellery pieces.

After making a bracelet for my mother for Christmas, of her grandchildren, I started getting a lot of positive feedback from people wanting to order one for themselves with their own photos. And so, Pip and the Sea was born!

Whilst making photo bracelet orders I began to colour and pour the excess resin from each batch into jewellery moulds that I made, to reduce any waste. As these pieces began to sell my little photo-bracelet shop expanded to include ready-made bangles, rings, earrings, brooches, hair clips, and more recently, bowls and vases.

What's in a name?
With influence from my love of the coast, (I'm lucky enough to have spent many summers growing up visiting beaches on the Central Coast and in Sydney, Australia), the name Pip and the Sea also came from a play on my children's names. Philippa and Claudia are called "Pip" and "C" for short.

It is my goal to have every Pip and the Sea customer feeling very happy about their purchases. I take great care in ensuring that each piece is made to a high quality standard. I have a high percentage of customers return to make more purchases because they are so happy with the quality of their original order. In the event of any possible problem I hope my customers contact me as I will always do my best to fix any issues and make sure everyone is happy.

As I am hoping to grow Pip and the Sea, I am looking to improve on any aspects of the brand that I can, and so I am appreciative of any feedback that I receive.
