    Welcome to my humble corner of the internet!

    Pithy Diction is a collection of simple greeting cards.

    It was founded in 2014 in Chicago and is the whimsical brainchild of a lad named Adam (that would be me).

    I always hated sappy and wordy greeting cards. I remember my Dad having to drag me and my brother to the local store every holiday only to get cards that didn’t fit my personality or my relationships. As a result, I gave up giving greeting cards. However, over time I realized that I could just make cards that fit my humor and style. Years of positive feedback, combined with a desire for a creative outlet and to get my hands dirty in a side business, let to the creation of Pithy Diction in 2014.

    All Pithy Diction cards are designed, marketed, sold, and fulfilled by me. Each card starts out as an emotion ("hey that would be funny", "that fits our relationship perfectly", etc.). That emotion then gets a graphic and/or text, digitally polished, painstakingly formatted, and carefully produced.

    Pithy Diction greeting cards are simple and instantly connect with the recipient. Sometimes relationships require humor, sometimes sweetness, and occasionally full-blown inappropriateness. The difference between my cards and those that are mass produced is that my cards start from an emotion and use simple images and text to get straight to that point – without fear of alienating the masses with something that’s rude or atypical. Life’s too short to read paragraphs of sappy text that don’t say what you really mean.

      Allstate Printing is a printing company located outside Chicago, IL. They use modern digital presses to print beautiful greeting cards with vibrant images. Production is fast, and due to their proximity to Chicago, so is delivery to Pithy Diction.

    Custom and personalized orders

    Custom and personalized orders will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Typically, the main image of a card cannot be changed, but occasionally additional text can be added to the interior or an interior message might be changed. To start the process, send me a message via Etsy Conversations or send me an email at adam [at] pithydiction.com before placing an order so we can talk about your specific needs!

    Shipping Tracking

    To keep costs low, standard shipping for individual cards comes without tracking. However, tracking for individual cards is available as a shipping upgrade option (look for shipping upgrades during checkout).

    All 12 card packs and notecard packs already come with tracking included.

    Please note that it may take some time for the USPS to update tracking information (if you've added tracking information).

    Packaging

    All single greeting cards are carefully packaged in a cellophane sleeve and shipped in a rigid mailer for extra protection.

    All note card packs are carefully packaged in cellophane sleeves. Sets of 10 are shipped in rigid mailers. Sets of 25 and 50 are shipped in a rigid cardboard box.

    All 12 card packs come in a clear display box with a decorative bow closure. Card packs are shipped in a rigid cardboard box.

    Please note that the exact colors shown on your computer monitor may vary slightly from those on the finished product due to individual computer graphics settings.

    Shipping Address

    Please ensure your Etsy address is up to date. If you provide the incorrect address during the ordering process, you will be responsible for the cost of producing and shipping another card.
