About

Pluck'd Designs takes inspiration from the everyday to create timeless reflective products that also serve other functions.

Pluck'd designs was founded in 2015 by Saffie Pluck, who studied Product Design at Central Saint Martins in Kings Cross, London. The brand came about from Saffie’s interest in Products and how garments can be created that looked good but also served other functions. Although trained in Product Design, Saffie has always had an interest in materials and textiles, and decided to unite the two. The first range, Urban Wear was created through the idea to fuse everyday garments with material innovation, creating reflective garments that look normal during the day, but reflective at night, transforming the piece and making the wearer highly visible.

The wool for this range was designed and created with The Natural Fibre Company, a woollen mill based in Launceston in Cornwall. Here the wool was plied and set with the reflective tape, creating an innovative yarn that was both soft and functional.

The cloth for the Urban range was created in collaboration with Daniel Harris from the London Cloth Co, based in Enfield. Using his expertise and Saffie’s Designs, a cloth was woven that incorporates the reflective tape, creating a striking fabric that transforms to reflective at night. Saffie is currently developing shirts and bags for the Urban Wear range using this reflective cloth.

Saffie currently works in North London, creating handmade garments for her first range, Urban Wear. Detail and precision goes into every one of the garments, which are handmade to order. A lot of time and development has gone into the Urban Wear Reflective Range, with Saffie having to try many combinations before finding a yarn thickness and ply that both complimented the wool and the reflective tape.

Additional Policies and FAQ's

Whilst Pluck'd Designs try to get the best possible colour match, any hand-dyed colours will vary slightly for each garment, as they have been hand-dyed in small batches.

With all woollen products, whilst the wool has been professionally cleaned, due to the nature of the material (and sheep!) there may be small bits of hay, grass or mud in the wool. We want to reassure you that this does happen when working with natural fibres, and that the garment is clean and ready to wear!

We recommend that you hand wash your garment once every 3 months, as well as use a de-linter or your fingers to remove any lint when needed
