I've been a passionate aficionado of the fiberarts since I learned how to sew doll clothes on my little blue Singer hand-crank toy sewing machine, and taught myself to knit and crochet at age 9. I still have that sewing machine!

My first art "career" was in leaded glass, which I did for about 20 years in my studio in Washington DC.

My professional work after that was in graphic design, both in the corporate world and as a freelancer. I bring my knowledge of clear, simple design to the knitting patterns that I design, both for my own work and for other knitwear designers.

Breaking out of the corporate world in 2006, I bought a tiny farm in West Virginia, where I raised a small flock of Leicester Longwool sheep, with a few mohair goats and chickens thrown in the mix for fun. I also had a yarn shop, Pocket Meadow Farm (named after my farm). Life was great for a number of years, and while I eventually moved away from the farm, I still continued my work in the fiber arts, spinning, dyeing, weaving, knitting and designing.

Now Pocket Meadow Farm is the online venue for my work. I'm focusing on handdyed yarn and fiber, and designing knitting patterns. I started out with etsy back in 2007, but took a ten year break from listing things.

I love knitting in particular, and love simple, meditative projects.
