We ordered a wedding ring for my fiance. We love it so much! When we first got the ring it was a size too small, but we were able to send it back and have it re-sized with no problems at all. The ring looks great in person and is very comfortable. I highly recommend working with this seller, we are very happy :)

A rare animal, a friend of your imagination

We work with our hands and we transform the world, yet we still have lot to learn from nature. This natural beauty is what inspires me every day. The beauty of the materials, as well as the beauty of living, growing things. I try to express this in my work. Sometimes I do it literally like the textures transferred to metal surfaces. Other times I let in as imperfections, as undulating forms. Accidents are welcome guests, and I don't overlook them as flaws, but give them a chance to develop their own beauty.

I build the work with metal clay on sterling silver skeleton structures. I mix materials as they present themselves. I graft them on top of each other like symbiotic species.

I build small scale and jewelry pieces because while nature is grandiose, it is also very intimate. I want to bring to our attention that it doesn't take much to find and connect to our roots.

My work celebrates discovery in miniature, strength in significance, personification of memory. The pieces offered here are an illustration where my mind has gone, and perhaps give an insight where it may wonder yet.

All the work you see here is either one of a kind or a limited production artisan piece. They are various experiments in material, color, and approach. If you see something that you like, but has been sold or you need a different size, send me a message, and I'll most probably be able to recreate it. Of course, it will not be the exact copy, but hey, that is the beauty of the hand made objects!

RUSH ORDERS: Short production time orders are possible, but please inquire about the terms and feasibility of your request prior to making a purchase.

EXPRESS SHIPPING AVAILABLE PER REQUEST: I offer US Postal Express Service as well as FedEx. Please send me a message with your zip code to get a quote for express shipping, within or outside the United States.

If paying via PayPal, please make sure that your Etsy and Pay Pal addresses match. If they do not, and I am unable to contact you, I will not send the items out.

In some countries, buyers are subject to customs taxes and various insurance duties on items shipped from international locations. This is solely your responsibility, and in some cases will be requested that you pay it in advance.

Also, you are responsible to know whether certain materials are allowed into your country. So check before you buy, please!
Refunds and Exchanges
If you receive an item damaged, please contact me within 2 days of receipt of the item. I will gladly exchange it for an item of same value, or if possible repair the piece.

If you change your mind for what ever reason within 30 days of purchase, please send me a message and return the piece in good shape. I'll refund you the price of the purchase, minus the restocking fee ($6), as soon as I receive it back.

For items that you change your mind after the 30 days of purchase, please send me a message and I'll do my best to help you out.

If you ordered a wrong size I am happy to exchange it for one that fits. If I have the item in stock, it will cost you only the shipping. If I need to make you a new ring for whatever reason, and you are sending the old one back in good shape, I'll have to charge you for the work I do on the item plus shipping, and I'll give you an exact quote depending on the item you are returning.

If the piece breaks in an accident or due to unnecessary or unusual stress, I will occasionally accept broken pieces for a repair or exchange. Please send me a detailed message and include sharp pictures of the break and I will give you a quote for repair work. If the item is not repairable, I will accept the broken item as a scrap material towards the new item. The value will be calculated as 70% of the current material market price on the day I receive it in the mail.

For any item that is returned or exchanged shipping charges both ways are your responsibility.

Thanks for understanding!
Additional policies and FAQs

The designs that you see here are premade examples or already sold pieces. If you need a different size or would like a different width then the one in stock, I'll make one especially for you. I don't cast from the finished rings, I make each new piece from scratch. That way you get a true one of a kind piece signed by the artist. I will use the same pattern, but finished piece will not be the exact copy of what you see in the pictures. It will be unique, and just for you.

If you are interested in a DIFFERENT WIDTH of a ring, it is definitely possible to make that customization. The narrowest I will do is 4 mm, for the sake of the strength and longevity of the ring. You can put that in to the notes to seller during the checkout process.
If you want it wider, I will have to charge you for the difference in material. The usual price is $8 per mm. Please send me a message before you buy, and I will set up a custom listing for you.

If you don't know the size of the ring you need, check below for sizing instructions. In this case it is best to send me that measure, I'll do the calculations for your ring size.

RING SIZING: The best way to find your size for most of my designs is to go to a professional jeweler and get sized for a WIDE ring. This is important to emphasize because wide rings need more "breathing" room around your finger to be comfortable to wear. I strongly encourage you to do this if at all possible, especially for wedding bands.

If you are planning a surprise, above will not be possible, but if you measure an existing ring's diameter and width, please include both of these measures in your order. In this case also, please let me know a bit how the ring will be worn (whether the person is really physically active, frequently uses power tools, etc). This usually helps to determine the necessary size adjustments, but may not be 100% accurate.

Following is a quick way to get the approximate size for your self, since you can do more then one measure. I suggest doing it several times during the day since our hands change in size depending on many different factors.

How to measure: Take a wider (12 mm or 1/2") piece of paper, make a longer neat tape out of it, and wrap it around your finger. Glue it together with a piece of sticky tape, and test if it slides over your knuckle. With a pencil make a mark where the ends overlap. Unroll it back, and measure the length from the edge to the mark. You can send me this measurement, and I will make you a ring of your choosing, in closest matching whole or half size.

In my designs I use silver art clay. It is malleable as clay, but when fired it turns into 99.9% pure silver. This enables me to hand sculpt each piece into a unique item. Pure silver is pretty strong, but not as sterling silver. Since the process doesn't melt it together, but sinters it, it can occasionally break under stress. Therefore the pieces are reinforced with the sterling silver wire buried within the clay. This makes them durable under the normal wear and tear circumstances. The pieces are not designed to withstand unusual stress as large weight or unnecessary force.

Also, during the firing of the metal clay, the pieces shrink in overall size 10 to 15%. Because of this the details may be more or less prominent then what you see in the pictures. The process of hand sculpting is the reason why the widths of the rings are all approximate. I strive to make the rings as close to original design, but sometimes it happens that they are narrower then intended when they come out of the kiln.

Pure silver tarnishes minimally; it usually becomes shinier with wearing. In the case of regular exposure to water and sulphur compounds (like in some ammonia based cleaning products) it may become darker. To clean it just gently rub it with dampened baking soda, thoroughly rinse under running water, and dry completely. You can dry it by heating it with a hairdryer, or on a pot warmer plate for about 15 min, so that all the water evaporates from the pores of the metal. NEVER heat the piece on a stove, as this may cause silver to turn white. After drying the piece is ready for wearing again.

If you are looking for something special, and think I would be the artist to make it, just ask! I love working with people and figuring out what they are looking for.

I am open for wholesale and consignment opportunities, there are a number of items that can be made in larger quantities. Please see my account on Trunkt.com. (http://polkadile.trunkt.com/) Thanks!
