as i do deal in strictly vintage items, these items may have imperfections but those will always be disclosed in the item listing.
it is the buyers responsibility to carefully read an item's description for pertinent info: dimensions, size, condition, etc.
measurements given on an item will be accurate within 1/4" and should not be considered to be exact.
refunds and returns cannot be made due to buyers displeasure with issues that were fully disclosed in the listing.

i take great care in packaging fragile items. however, accidents do happen. if for some reason your item arrives broken or damaged, please contact me immediately upon unpacking the item(s) so that i can make it right.
the damage must be documented and reported UPON RECEIPT of the item (within 24 hours.)
any delays will nullify ability to return an item or buyer's receipt of a refund.
with antique and vintage items, usage sometimes will produce chips, cracks, or other damage that cannot be predicted and for which i cannot be held responsible.

in most cases, payment will be refunded in full. (although it is rarely required, some documentation of breakage or damage MAY be required; returning the item to me MAY also be required.)
in the rare instance when i do agree to accept an item for return and refund, the item MUST be sent in the same packaging and by the same method it was shipped (i.e. priority mail, parcel select, fed ex ground, etc.);
return must be initiated and item(s) must be in transit within 2 business days (as the post office operates on saturday, it is considered to be a business day) from buyer's receipt of item; if there is a further delay you must contact me to make arrangements.
returns not received within this time frame will not be accepted for refund and i reserve the right to make that decision.

i know that all of this is bothersome and perhaps even offensive; however, i do operate and treat my shop as a business and endeavor to be clear, honest and direct in these matters.
by purchasing an item in my shop, a buyer is agreeing to these terms; any issues, concerns or disagreement with these policies as stated here should therefore be addressed prior to purchase.

LAYAWAY:
now that etsy is offering klarna for purchases above a certain $$ amount, i am no longer offering layaway.
using klarna to make your purchase allows me to ship your item right away and to consider the sale complete, and the buyer can make payments using klarna.
simply choose 'klarna' at checkout to make your purchase.
RESERVES:
****please remember that placing an item on hold or reserve is not a guarantee that the item will remain available. if another buys an item which has been reserved the item will be considered sold and will no longer be available.***
items cannot be placed on reserve until 72 HOURS AFTER THE ITEM HAS LISTED. this gives the item an opportunity to be sold on a first-come basis.
if you wish to have an item held for you with a guarantee that the item will be held for you, a small deposit will be required,
PAYMENT:
as of march 14th, 2016, i unfortunately will no longer will be able to accept delayed payment, i.e., payment by check or money order.
i apologize for the inconvenience for those who prefer to pay this way and who would pay responsibly.
i accept paypal and credit cards through direct checkout.


SHIPMENT:
PLEASE be sure that your CORRECT and CURRENT ADDRESS is the same as the one given on the etsy order.
if any changes need to be made, they MUST be included in the 'notes to seller'
section on the order.
it is the buyer's responsibility to make sure that the 'ship to' address is correct.
i will not be responsible for shipping to a wrong address if the address listed on the order is not correct.
please be advised that i frequently ship within minutes of receiving an order; therefore any changes must be submitted with the order.

shipment is promised within 3 days of receipt of payment unless indicated in the item description (as in the case of special shipping for large or heavy items.)

some items (such as vintage molded and tapered candles) must be shipped when temperatures are conducive to safe arrival; extreme heat in my home state of california may alter and delay shipping; in this case buyer will be notified and kept informed.

INTERNATIONAL FIRST CLASS SHIPPING IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME DUE TO LENGTHY DELAYS TO DELIVERY and LOST PACKAGES. orders that have already shipped are subject to further delays which are beyond the shop owner's control. your patience is very much appreciated.
shipping by priority mail international is available to a few select countries.
PLEASE be sure that the correct shipping address is on the order at the time it is placed as i endeavor to ship quickly; if there are changes to be made to the recipient's address they must be submitted on the initial order in the ''note to seller'' section.
i cannot be responsible for misdirected items if the buyer's address is incorrectly given on the order.
you pay ONLY actual shipping charges.
this is always my policy at polka dot rose.
rush orders (items requiring next-day express delivery) may incur a nominal added processing fee to be determined at time of shipment.
the fee for this will be included in shipping cost when shipping quote for the express delivery is presented to buyer and will not be added after the cost is quoted; buyer will know up-front what the total cost is to be for express delivery before checkout.

i will provide tracking information on most all packages.
shipping may be by usps or fedex ground, if the item is unusually large or heavy.
please note that fed ex does not ship to p.o. boxes.
a signature may be required at the time of delivery on certain items to ensure safe delivery of package to recipient.
i make every effort to ship in the most economical way possible to make your shopping money stretch further.
sometimes the 'combined' charges when multiple items are purchased err on the side of high. if the actual shipping charges end up being less than the buyer is charged, a refund will be made once shipping has been made.

i do use recycled boxes but always use clean fresh tissue and plenty of cushioning materials so that your purchase arrives clean and undamaged.
i NEVER use newspaper or other ''recycled'' items such as egg cartons, food packaging cartons, or plastic bags for packing !
