People always want to know about the science side of my jewelry. I love science. I took so many science classes in college, just because I enjoyed them. I particularly love Anatomy and Physiology, Neurology, Psychology and Entomology. I think art is a very scientific endeavor in many ways and it was only natural for me to combine my love of both silversmithing and science to create my jewelry. With my jewelry I am particularly concerned with accuracy. I may choose to depict a structure a certain way because, in the end, it needs to be a functionally wearable object, but I always make sure that my structures are accurate. I hand make my models in wax and hand stamp them before they are cast into silver. I then make a mold of the structure because each wax model can take several hours to build. My jewelry is entirely handmade, not 3D printed or laser cut. I have been a silversmith for over 16 years and it is still what I love to do!
