Washing Instructions

Washing cloth diapers is actually super easy!!! If you are new to cloth, dont be scared, and if your a seasoned cloth mama, PoopsieDoodles can be washed as you would any cloth diaper.

Wash before using, just to remove any fabric bits etc, that might be left on after being sewn.

Once the diaper has been used, remove as much solid waste as you can, then rinse, hot wash, double rinse, then line dry, or toss in the dryer. You dont have to unsnap anything. Sometimes the inserts come unsnapped on their own, if not, no big deal. They get squeaky clean! HOWEVER they do dry better if they are unsnapped, so keep that in mind. (obviously if you are using pocket diapers, its a good idea to "unstuff" them first before washing. I usually do that as I put them in the diaper pail after taking them off my son)
Make sure you use only HALF the normal amount of detergent, and its a good idea to use additive free detergent. After lots of trial and error, what works for me personally is Tide powder. Lots of mamas have good luck with some of the free and clear detergents though, and even others with "natural" detergents. Look around and figure out what works for you, your water, washer, and cleaning method.
