Welcome to Poppy Creek Farm!
I find infinite beauty in nature, and I love to capture the simple perfection of natural, raw fleece in my rovings, batts and yarns.
Fleeces are grown here on my farm on top of Sand Mountain, then hand sheared by me and carefully processed by hand, no chemicals or milling. I prepare my fleeces carefully; each one is individually crafted to retain the character, structure and integrity of the natural look!
"Barn To Yarn" really sums up my ethos and the products you will find here.
I enjoy hand preparing the fleeces and rovings, because it allows me to build upon the crimp and natural curl of the fleeces that can be lost in the commercial milling process.
I think you will love the natural beauty of these fibers as much as I do.

5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely beautiful fiber! I wanted to save my review for when I had something spun up but I didn't want to let you wait! I'm sure I'll be back for more! I can't wait to scour this super soft fiber!

Cria (baby alpacas) are impossibly adorable. Their first fleece to be shorn is always an explosion of fiber delight!

Jacob ram lambs out on the back farm growing out ready for next breeding season.

Mohair, from Angora goats, is a personal favorite. I love everything about this versatile fiber.

I do all my own shearing myself; here I am shearing the fleece from a Jacob ram lamb before he goes to his new home.

Wensleydale sheep are my favorites! Their beautiful fleeces and calm, friendly personalities make them a joy to have.
When I look at a raw fleece, whether it is wool, alpaca or mohair, I see the miracle of Mother Nature. This creature lives outside, grows this wool over the course of a year, and somehow it is still soft and perfect and something that we fiber artists love to craft into beautiful wearable art.
Helping my fiber animals to grow amazing fleeces is something that I am entirely immersed in day to day, providing quality feed and hay, ensuring that everyone has shelter and somewhere comfortable to be away from the weather - whether that's -10f or 105f! - and assisting them in raising the next generation of fiber producers.
I live and breathe this beautiful chaos, and out of it comes the raw fleece that is crafted into fiber art that I can't believe I am lucky enough to have had a hand in creating.
