Welcome to Pottery by Laura. My goal is to create unique pottery pieces that you will be proud to own and gift. My first personalized platter I made was in 2004. I wanted to give my dad a special gift for his 60th birthday. I decided to paint the house he was born in on a platter. I knew it would be special but I had no idea. The tears that came to him and those of us watching have been embedded in my memory. I loved the feeling of giving him a gift that was special. The house was a simple house to others but to him it held such special memories. I hope I can create the same for you.

Frequently asked questions
What if I need to make changes to my photo?

I can add leaves to the trees, make it have green grass, not include a car in the driveway etc. Be sure to include that in your message to me.

How do I send the photo to you?

You can upload the photo where it says “Message Laura” by clicking the camera icon. You can also email it to me at potterybylaura@yahoo.com.

Are the platters food safe?

Yes. I fire the image onto the plate/platter using non toxic glazes. Feel free to use your pottery and not just display it!
