Aloha and welcome to my shop! My name is Karen and I am a potter. I love to make mugs, bowls, small plates, jewelry, etc. with a 'nature' theme. I use different clays as well as various techniques in making my pieces, and I hope you will find something you like as you browse my shop. If you don't see what you are looking for, please feel free to convo me and I'll let you know if it's something I can do. :)

About

Potterygal66

My shop grew out of my love of making pottery. When I first took up Ceramics in college, I had no idea that I'd still be doing it almost 30 years later. My passion for this medium has only gotten stronger over the years, and each morning when I wake up, one of the first things that pops into my head is what I'll be making with clay that day. It is easy to lose track of time when I'm involved in a project. My love for listening to different kinds of music goes hand-in-hand with pottery-making. Put a cat next to me and I'd be in a complete state of bliss. :)

I love nature...animals, plants, landscapes...and this is a predominant theme in my pottery. I work mainly with slabs or on the potter's wheel, making mugs, bowls, soap dishes, garden markers, jewelry and other unique items. It is always an enjoyable experience when a customer contacts me and asks me to make a special item for them. I am strongly motivated by the feedback I get from my buyers and I encourage everyone to let me know what they think of my work. I am always happy to consider new ideas, so don't be afraid to speak up.

I was born in Canada and raised elsewhere, mainly on the tiny island of Guam. I got my B.A. in Art from the University of Guam, married a great man, moved to Hawaii and became the mom of two wonderful kids. I love music, cats and making pottery.
