5 out of 5 starsThis was the perfect Mother's Day card! I've always called my Mom Wow - so she loved the phrasing. She's going blind now but she was able to read the letters - and that was the best gift of all! Beautiful.

5 out of 5 starsI absolutely love this print! As a female printmaker it is the perfect addition to my printing studio! I love the detail from the vintage wood type and the craftsmanship is just beautiful. Nice large print and worth the purchase

Bad cards for good people
Power and Light Press is a letterpress studio based in Silver City, New Mexico. Here at Power and Light Press, I take great pride in the pursuit of fine craftsmanship, but I work just as hard to hone a juvenile, sometimes inappropriate sense of humor. I specialize in off-color, hand-printed greeting cards, and occasionally do custom work such a business cards, posters, music packaging, invitations, and stationery.
I am inspired by paper, wobbly lines, history, overheard conversations, logs, whiskey, trains, the color brown, roadside Americana, the Wild West, dogs, salt water, maps, and vintage office supplies, among other things. I also love crossword puzzles, swimming in creeks, green chile, adventures, and occupying small spaces.
Power and Light Press was born in Portland, Oregon in 2009. In its early days, the business was focused on wedding invitations and business cards, with a tiny yet popular line of greeting cards. As the years went by, though, I found that my passion and my strength was in designing and printing cards, and I have spent much of the past two years channeling a dry sense of humor into my work and developing my line of cards. I love my job.
I relocated to Silver City, NM from Portland, OR in late 2012, seeking sunnier skies and cheaper rents. I have found those things, as well as a whole new environment and lifestyle to inform my creative process. I am a one-woman shop, and do all design, illustration, and printing in-house on my 1926 Chandler & Price Craftsman press. Each card is hand-fed, one color at a time, the old-fashioned way. As a maker of things, I am keenly aware of my footprint in this world, and so I work exclusively with 100% PCW papers, and use recycled envelopes and compostable sleeves for packaging.
Thanks so much for your interest in Power and Light Press.
Please be in touch if I can answer any questions - I'd love to hear from you!
