Eric is a phenomenal artist. He was easy to work with for a custom piece. The turnaround from the original request to shipping was quick and seamless.

Eric did a custom piece for me that I'm using in the nursery for my new baby. He sent mock-ups, the piece is brilliant. He did an excellent job with the packing and was responsive to messages regarding estimates and shipping prices. I also think that it is a great price for custom original artwork. I highly recommend him.

It was a pleasure talking to and working with Eric. He was very detailed in response to my questions and accommodating with my requests. The end result is very peaceful and relaxing to look at. I couldn’t be happier with it.

About

Hand cut paper art.

When I started creating art it was part of my background education to become a graphic designer. I had learned techniques to create art based on European artists, but I lost track of my culture. As I started learning more about my Chinese heritage I learned about traditional Papercut art style. So a few years back I was creating 2D single sheet papercuts. Though it was nice to achieve techniques and compositions like past Chinese artists I wanted to go beyond. So I began layering 2D papercuts to create 3D images.

I was still looking at my cultural history when I learned that in English culture, quilling paper was a popular technique. Though quilling was interesting I couldn't stop at what the traditional styling was. Then I broke out and created images using quilling more like drawing than curling individual elements.

Not to stop and create one style of art, I always had a background and love for sculpture. In college in creating a shark out of clothespins and wire there was a chance I could create things that was never seen before and shows the work that on can put into a piece. I had entered my art piece into a juried school art show. Seeing those attendees look at my art and being inspired and in a way mesmerized by the detail, I knew I was doing something that was effecting people. If I can make a small mark in this world that can inspire someones life in one moment then creating that art piece is all worth it.

June 2012, I opened my Etsy shop where I hope I can share my art and reach out to people around the world. It is one step I take to get closer to my dream of becoming an artist.

I work for a corporation by day and at night I take steps closer to my dream. The dream is to become a full-time artist. Whether or not it can be done is not determined but by creating and challenging myself, I inch closer and closer.

This company takes my photos of my artwork and prints them on the coaster. The coaster is sealed in hard plastic with a cork backing using the machinery that are inaccessible, both financially and space-wise, to me.
