About

I have lots of fun making cool metal stuff.

Prairie Art Metal started in a small garage in Sun Prairie WI in 1995. It has since moved to an historic farmstead in the southern part of Dane County WI. The small garage has grown into a large metal shop, with an attached gallery in a greenhouse, fabrication space, and a jewelry/casting area.

I love learning new things - new techniques, disciplines, and tricks. In the metal art field, many things cross the boundaries of genre. Blacksmithing carries over to jewelery, fabrication crosses all lines, and the same tricks that work for architectural elements apply equally to yard art and organic sculpture.

I also opened a second etsy store the first of the year. I thought I had linked to it already, but now see that edit "didn't take." http://etsy.com/shop/uniquehandpieces
