Needlin' Things Is What I Do . . .

. . . to paraphrase a quote from one of my favorite movies ("Monte Walsh", starring Tom Selleck).

I've been sewing since I was 8 years old. My grandmother enrolled me in 4-H, and when my great-aunt Charlotte gave me a garbage bag full of scraps on one of her visits, I discovered patchwork, and a passion that's only gotten stronger the older I get.

There's just something about taking a pile of materials and turning them into a treasured item for someone to use and love that keeps me fired up and creating every day.

We're up early to tend to the farm, but I try to be in my studio by 8:00 every morning, where I immediately lose all track of time while I'm happily stitching away.

Naturally, our lifestyle finds its way into my work, so I create a lot of items with a cowboy/cowgirl/farm life theme, but I also do a little bit of everything else because I find all of it interesting and inspiring.

I'm also a professional longarm quilter, pattern designer, and knitter. One thing about that is . . . I'm never bored!

My Cowboy is my biggest fan and the greatest helper I could ask for. It's nice to have someone around to keep me grounded when things get crazy around here.
