Prairie Primitives Folk Art - Handmade in the USA!
My name is Tana and I'm the owner of Prairie Primitives Folk Art. I live near Sacramento, CA, USA.
I opened this Etsy shop in 2006 and will celebrate my 10th "Etsyversary" in August 2016! Prior to opening this shop, I mostly sold at antique & craft fairs in the Midwest (until 1997) and, more recently, in California. I was honored to be a featured folk artist at the California Country Antiques Show in Los Altos, CA for many years. If you see the "Local" link at the top of this shop, click that to see where I am currently selling! Although I only see this link on my laptop, not my phone, the actual "Local" section is currently located a bit farther down on this screen.
The inspiration for much of my work comes from my love of country antiques and antique textiles. I especially enjoy creating primitive dolls, hearts made from antique quilt & coverlet, and almost anything related to Americana, Halloween, or Christmas. I like to say that Prairie Primitives Folk Art is a collection of antique-inspired primitive dolls and home decor created to bring your 21st century home back to the 19th century.

I am delighted to combine shipping whenever possible! The total shipping cost will be shown in your cart after you've added multiple items from my shop to your cart. If you use the "Buy It Now" button for multiple items being shipped to the same address, I will combine shipping and refund overpaid postage.
You may choose upgraded shipping for many of my items. Paying this additional fee will enable your order to ship via Priority Mail rather than First Class Mail. If you would like upgraded shipping on an item where it's not currently offered, please contact me thru Etsy so I can add this option for you!
All shipping is through the USPS (post office), unless prior arrangements have been made.
★ International orders will have the full purchase price declared on Customs forms - no exceptions. Postage is not included in the declared value.
★ Customs fees, VAT, duty, etc. are the responsibility of the buyer. These fees are imposed by your government on its residents for items coming into your country.
★ Etsy has recently added some verbiage about "applicable taxes" adjacent to the price on the item page. While I've seen a few variations of this wording, it usually says something about applicable taxes being included in the item price. This is, unfortunately, incorrect, and I apologize for the confusion. Because I do not live within the EU, I am not able to collect or pay your VAT charges, associated postal fees (Royal Mail fee), etc.; these expenses are your responsibility and are payable to your country's authorities prior to picking up your order.
★ International orders weighing less than 4 pounds will be mailed via First Class International. Orders weighing more than 4 pounds will be mailed via Priority Mail International. If you would like a lighter-weight package shipped via Priority Mail International, please contact me thru Etsy prior to making your purchase and I will adjust the postage for you.
Refunds and Exchanges
AS IS ITEMS: Occasionally, I may sell an item "As Is." These are usually antique quilts or other vintage items. If you have questions about the condition of these items, please contact me prior to purchase.
DAMAGED ITEMS: Please contact me within 48 hours of receiving a damaged order. Please save all packing materials, as it's possible the shipping company will need to see these materials.
Additional policies and FAQs
My items are intended to be used as home decor and collectibles; they are not intended to be toys for children or pets.
Colors may appear differently due to your monitor or viewing gadget. If you have any questions about colors, please contact me prior to purchase and I'll try to find a common item to compare the color to for reference. The antique wood shutter which I often use as a background is actually dark green; it seems that some monitors show it as teal!
After you receive your purchase, I would be delighted if you'd leave a "Review" (i.e., feedback) for me here on Etsy. I hope that your transaction will be worthy of a full 5 stars. Please let me know - prior to your review - if you have any concerns which might cause you to leave fewer than 5 stars. I will do my best to work with you to resolve your concerns!
