'That's not a job mummy, that's playing!'

'That's not a job mummy, that's playing!' is what my 9 year old son and 6 year old daughter tell me when they watch me work. When they comes into my craft room and sees all the colourful paper, card, embellishments, sticky tape and work in progress designs, he cannot fathom that this is my day-to-day job. Trying to tell him anything to the contrary is pointless! I secretly love that he sees it like that, because some days I see it like that too!

I chose to work from home to spend more time with my two little monsters, because soon, they will not be so little. Designing and making cards and gifts allows me to achieve that goal. I have always loved being creative, whether it's making themed birthday cakes for family, or decorating birthday banners with the children for my husband's birthday.

Why cards? Well, basically, I love the whole idea of sending and receiving cards through the post (none of this e-card nonsense!). I still find it exciting when a handwritten envelope from a friend lands with a little thump in our hallway. Sending greeting cards is such a long standing tradition, and I love to be part of that!

In addition to cards, I also make framed and engraved gifts and accessories. I'm a big fan of wall art, and filling the spaces on my walls is a never-ending activity in our house. The logistics of sending frames is more complex than cards, so once I have it all worked out, I hope to have them added to my shop listings in the coming months along with some other exciting new products!

If you have simply changed your mind, you may return non-personalised items for a refund to the value of the item. You will be responsible for any return postage costs incurred.

Personalised items will only be refunded if an error has been made on my part. You will have the option of receiving a replacement item or a full refund.

If an item is received damaged, please send me a picture of the damage (to allow me to submit a claim to Royal Mail) and I will re-make or refund your order as per your instructions.

Your information

When you place and order on our online systems (Etsy, eBay) or via our Facebook business page (, we collect your name, e-mail address, postal address, and contact details. Pretty As A Picture Gifts keeps a record of this information for tax purposes and for ensuring we fulfil our contract with you.
The only personal information we hold is what customers provide to us when they place an order on our 3rd party stores or via Facebook.
We do not share your personal data with 3rd parties, however it is stored on relevant systems - Royal Mail, Order Management Software, Accounting Systems which are GDPR compliant. If we are required by law to share any information, we will check with each party concerned to ensure they are happy for that to happen. An example of this would be if HMRC requested an audit of our accounting transactions.
We store sensitive data for as long as customers remain active clients. Emails are eradicated after 90 days. Information required for tax and legal requirements are held for 7 years as a requirement by law.
We keep a record of any orders you make from us, so we can help to deal with any enquiries or problems you may have in the future.
When you place an order with Pretty As A Picture Gifts you may be asked whether you’d like to consent to us displaying your order as part of our marketing materials. By giving your consent for us to do this you understand your personal data will be in the public domain and we assume no responsibility for the usage of this data subsequently. You may request to have your personal data removed at any time and we are more than happy to comply within 7 working days.

Custom and personalised orders

I am always happy to work with you to create a custom design, whether it is to tweak an existing card design in my shop, or develop a completely new idea. Please just message me to get started!

How long will my item take to arrive?

You will receive a notification email from Etsy as soon as your item has been despatched. I use Royal Mail 1st Class for all UK items and Royal Mail International Standard (not tracked) for outside of UK.

From date of dispatch I would expect items to be delivered in approximately 1-2 business days (UK) 7-10 business days (EUROPE) and 7-14 business days in all other overseas locations.

Please note: This can increase during busier times of the year such as Christmas.

Items are not sent tracked, however if you would prefer a tracked service, please get in touch prior to ordering for a shipping quotation.
