The illustrations in "Tell Me the Stories of Jesus" are wonderful. This is a particularly hard song to find generic images that do a good job of representing well the lyrics in all three verses. These illustrations are almost always the best that you can find for being used as teaching tools. I typically make two sets of each song -- one with words and one without words. This requires the ability to add lyrics to the images. I begin teaching a new song by using the set with words and by explaining the pictures and lyrics, then singing the song. Then the next week we sing to the illustrations with some words or phrases covered. Then we sing to the set without words, followed by singing with only a few illustrations posted. This works pretty well for teaching the children.

Primary Illustrations

Welcome to Primary Illustrations!

I am a mother, traditional painter, illustrator, and Primary Chorister. Every week, I spent hours scouring the internet trying to find visuals, or free clipart that would work as visuals, and I simply could not find anything like what I wanted.

Simple, easy-to-see designs.

Specific visual cues.

Little to no text. (My little kids can’t read it, and my bigger kids surface-read it instead of internalizing the meaning of the words.)

Less ink-heavy. (Ink cartridges are expensive, y’all!)

I started making these for my own use, but when friends and fellow choristers saw the visuals, they asked to make this resource available to more people. And, viola. The shop was born. We - parents, teachers and choristers - spend so much time preparing to teach our wonderful children every week. I hope some of these visuals can save time during your lesson planning and bring heartfelt learning to our incredible Primary kids.
