My journey with leather began not as a business plan, but as a fascination with the material itself. In a world increasingly filled with disposable fast fashion, I found myself drawn to the authenticity of leather—its distinct smell, its rugged texture, and the way it stubbornly refuses to wear out, choosing instead to wear in.
Why "Prime Grain"? I named my shop Prime Grain because I believe the soul of a product lies in the quality of its material. I work primarily with full-grain vegetables-tanned leathers. This isn't the flawless, overly processed stuff you find in mass-market goods. It’s "prime" because it’s real. It has character. Most importantly, it is alive.
When you buy a phone case, a wallet, or a cardholder from my shop, you aren't just buying an accessory; you are starting a journey. Over time, the leather will absorb the oils from your hands, darken in the sun, and develop a unique patina that tells your specific story. No two pieces will ever age exactly the same way.
The Process Every item in this shop is crafted in my small, sunlit studio. There are no assembly lines here. From hand-cutting the hides to burnishing the edges and finalizing the stitching, I am personally involved in every step. It’s a slow process, but it ensures that every piece is built to last a lifetime.
