About

Vintage inspired prints and textiles with illustrations by Xtina Lamb

Printed Wonders started in a Clerkenwell studio shared with other artists. I would work through the night so I could take over more of the space and fill it with prints!

Now I've developed a range of products featuring my illustrations, and have set up a large, well equipped printmaking studio in Rochester in Kent called Medway Fine Printmakers. I run and organise printmaking workshops there, sell my designs through shops and participate in larger art fairs as well as selling via Etsy.

I've worked as part of designer-maker collective Seaside Sisters to organise large events too. We provided all the craft activities for the official Jubilee pageant festival in Battersea Park and over 1500 people joined in with us.

When I'm not getting inky (or helping other people to), I look for inspiration in piles of old paper and books at boot fairs or charity shops. I collect many oddities but vintage illustrated books and ephemera, and printed textiles are my main weaknesses. I get very excited by Victorian books about ferns or seaweed, anything by Barbara Jones, children's books, matchbook covers, Mexican crafts and many mid-century designers and artists. I love the colour, typography, textures and smell of print. I couldn't live without ink!

It's exciting to see how much is going on in printmaking these days, whether it's in reaction to the slickness of digital design, or just something that never went away. I'm very happy to be part of it.

Shop policies

Most of the items on sale in my shop have been made with a Print Gocco machine, screen printed or made using an electronic cutter. Textile items such as bunting have been screen printed using water-based fabric inks.

Often my bespoke items don't cost extra, only if something takes me significantly more time or uses spendy materials. You can mix and match symbols, letters, colours, flag shape, fabric etc. from my products, or have something completely unique made up for a wedding or gift.
