About

"People will stare. Make it worth their while." —Harry Winston

Welcome to Print or Solid. I am Ashlyn, the designer and creator of the handmade clothing items you see here. My passion is creating, and sewing is the medium for which I create. I started sewing 10 years ago with the goal of sewing my own clothes. When I wear the clothes that I create for myself, I feel special. I want to create something for your little one that makes them feel special too, because they are!

My shop name, Print or Solid, came about because I often struggle between using beautiful printed fabrics and simple solid ones. In my opinion, I need both prints and solids in my life, but I'm constantly trying to find the balance.

I love creating one of a kind garments. In this shop you will find special items for your little one designed and sewn by me with much love! I spend a lot of time on each garment and my attention to detail on each piece will hopefully wow you. Please send me a conversation if you have any questions about the items you see here. You can following me on Instagram @printorsolid and Facebook: Print or Solid. Enjoy!

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

Washing: All of my fabric is pre-washed prior to making your garment. You should wash your garments on gentle cycle with something like Woolite in cold water.

Drying: Most of my garments are made with natural fibers and will do OK in the dryer; however I almost never recommend drying because this will decrease the life of the garment. Hang to dry or lay flat. Some clothing items are ok to go into the dryer on a low heat setting.

Ironing: It's always ok to iron cotton. Other fibers can get tricky, so refer to my care instructions on each listing. If you aren't sure, message me.

Custom and personalized orders

Yes, I do custom orders however I would like to keep to my current style and brand. I use patterns when creating my garments most of the time and I am not able to create something from a photo.

Sizing details

If you don't see your size in something that you really like, message me. I may have that fabric available or I may be able to get my hands on the fabric again to make it in the size that you need.

Do you make curtains and pillows?

I have made curtains, and I have made pillows. Its not the thing I LOVE to do though. Since my sewing time is limited, I would like to spend it making clothing. Thank you for understanding!

Do you have anything for babies?

I am working on some ideas for babies. I am constantly creating new garments. My ideas are much more plenty than my hands can keep up with. Keep checking the shop for new items.
