About

Let us make you horny! Prism Moon Designs specializes in unique handsculpted polymer clay costume horns, whimsical jewelry and other fun things.

Prism Moon Designs is owned and operated by me, Sarah Nelson from Kansas City, Missouri.

Inspired by the beauty of nature, the fantasy books and films that burrowed into a young and overactive imagination, and my love of the colorful world of my local renaissance festival, I've been making costume horns and other whimsical polymer clay creations since the age of 12.

In 2007 I opened Prism Moon Designs on Etsy, one of the first few shops to offer polymer clay costume horns. Now almost 10 years later I offer over 20 different styles of unique handsculpted horns in an every color imaginable! I also enjoy making jewelry and accessories out of interesting natural items like porcupine quills, butterfly and beetle wings, feathers, bones and crystals. You may also find a few wee sculpted beasties, decorative potion bottles, curios and other random delights.

I'm also happy to say that I've been an artisan selling my wares at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival for the last two years, fulfilling a childhood dream.

Thank you for visiting Prism Moon Designs! I hope you enjoy my shinies.

Frequently asked questions

How long will it take to receive my costume horn order?

Almost all of Prism Moon's horns are MADE TO ORDER, and I often have many orders in line. My workload varies, but in general expect somewhere around TWO TO FOUR WEEKS before your horns are ready to be shipped. Current estimated turnaround time will always be clearly stated in my shop announcement. Please be patient!

If you need your horns by a certain date, PLEASE let me know when you order so I can make sure to get them to you on time!

I am glad to take reasonable rush orders for an additional $10 fee if you need your horns sooner.

Please be aware that this turnaround time is only the amount of time until your order will be ready to ship, and does not include the actual shipping time it will take to get to you.

Why does it take so long?

I truly wish I could work from home and support myself with my art, but unfortunately I'm not there yet! I work a full time job with sometimes crazy hours in social services, and have other commitments. I only have a few hours a day I can work on orders, and sculpting, baking, painting, and sealing everything by hand takes time. I usually have 15-20+ orders in line I am working on at any given time. I love making horns and other pretty things and I fill all my spare time with it! If you have a question about how long your order will take, feel free to ask me before you order and I'm glad to let you know.
