About

Jetsam is old-school haberdashery for the guy who doesn’t wear a suit.

Each eco-friendly Jetsam wallet is reclaimed from discarded or unwanted materials. Whether it’s made from a tie that once belonged to a 60s ad man, a shirt worn by a Canadian logger, or the jacket of a dapper professor, Jetsam wallets are wrapped in hip sartorial history.

Jetsam is old-school haberdashery for the guy who doesn’t wear a suit. It’s materials from your father’s generation remade into smart goods for your pocket.

In August of 2011, Prix-Prix® launched Jetsam®, a new line of eco-friendly wallets made from vintage menswear.

Prix-Prix was founded in 2007. It started off as a micro- enterprise, with all products manufactured in-house by designer and founder Laura Skelton. Inspired by the retro style of 70s men’s fashion, the Necktie Wallet® debuted that first year. 2009 marked the introduction of several new reconstructed wallet designs made from menswear.

After six years of growth, Prix-Prix continues to uphold a commitment to sustainable and socially responsible practices, sourcing vintage and factory overrun materials and recycled packaging in addition to keeping production close to home through working with a local manufacturer in Tecate, Mexico, so you can feel good about what you keep in your pocket.

When she’s away from Prix-Prix, Laura loves creating elaborate costumes and clothing from interesting junk. A dress she constructed entirely from the Sunday New York Times was recently featured in several international newspapers, and a handbag she crafted from an old childrens’ sleeping bag was published in the book Refashioned Bags.

Laura currently lives in San Diego, where she enjoys competitive potlucks and elaborate costume parties.
