Frequently asked questions
Do you do commissions?
Yes! I can build you just about anything you can think of. If you are interested in commissioning a piece contact me through Etsy by clicking on the 'Request a custom Order' link on any of my listings.
When requesting an item provide me with as much information about the item as you can. Name of the item, what it's from, pictures of the item, and if you would like it by a specific date. I will then take a look and give you a rough estimate of the price and the time it will take. If we agree the price is reasonable and you would like to proceed I will make you a custom order.
Please know that the work does not start until the item is purchased. Once payment is received I will start the work.
"Can you ship this out today?"
Please note that nearly all of my items listed are listed as "Made to Order". This means that I do not typically have the items 'in stock'.
I make each item when the order is placed.
If you are wanting an item for a specific occasion I can usually work with you on this. Simply contact me with a 'could you have this to me by...' and I will let you know if it is possible or not.
Typically if it is at least a week before the requested date I will be able to get it out in time. On bigger items it may take up to 2 weeks to complete. Keep in mind this is not a guarantee but I will do my best.
Is this solid metal? What does 'cold casting' mean?
I do not currently cast in metal. I use a cold casting technique to get the appearance of metal without the time and cost it would take to cast in solid metal.
"Cold-Casting" is a term used to describe the process of mixing metal powder with a resin to create castings that give the appearance of solid metal. The metal cold-cast process is faster and much less expensive compared with foundry casting of molten metal.
