Cute little stocking stuffer that got here on Christmas Eve so I was pleased to get it in time for the big day.
Handmade vegan soap from Portland, Oregon
When I started Prunella Soap, I was thinking a lot about the “lost arts” like baking from scratch, woodworking and quilting. I was also becoming increasingly aware of the amount of chemicals and synthetic ingredients that commercial cosmetic products contain and wanted to rewind back to the days of using natural ingredients to make soap.
I am inspired by European culture, design and cooking, especially anything that is made in Italy. I love how Italians make the most amazing meals out of very simple, fresh ingredients. I also find inspiration in the amount of time and craftsmanship that has traditionally been associated with Italian fashion and furniture design.
I have spent some time learning about the “slow food” movement and am interested in translating that mindset to the cosmetics industry by using only the most wholesome, basic ingredients in the soap that I make.
Prunella soap contains all natural, mostly food-grade ingredients that are plant-based as opposed to coming from animals. I use only essential oils – no artificial dyes, fragrances or preservatives in the soap. When choosing my soap recipes I take into consideration the origin of the ingredients and enjoy learning more about the healing properties and cultural traditions of the natural spices and herbs that I use.
The name Prunella (Princess Prunella...to be exact) was a nickname given to me by my mom when I was a little girl because I would stay in the bath too long...my fingertips would turn to "prunes!"
I hope you enjoy browsing through the shop, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or just to say hello!

Sorry, checks and money orders not accepted at this time.
Orders will be shipped to the address specified on your Etsy invoice, not your Paypal shipping address. If you have special shipping instructions, please be sure to include the information in the Note To Seller when you make your purchase.
// USA SHIPPING //
All orders ship via USPS First Class or Flat Rate Priority Mail (depending on weight of the package) and will be mailed no more than 4 business days after payment has been received, unless and extended lead time is otherwise noted in the listing that you purchase.
// INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING //
Please note that international shipments (including Canada) typically take 10-14 business days to receive. Shipments to Australia and some parts of Europe may take up to 4-6 weeks to arrive.
There is no tracking information available when mailing packages internationally. International customers need to inquire with your local post office and be aware of any issues regarding the receipt of cosmetic products, including soap, that is being mailed from the United States. Customers are responsible for any local fees, duties, taxes or brokerage charges that may be incurred on your package upon its arrival in your country. Please inquire with your local post office to find out the fees associated with your order prior to purchasing from Prunella Soap. If for any reason you do not claim or are unable to claim your package from Customs I will not issue a refund.
// SHIPPING COST WHEN PURCHASING MULTIPLE ITEMS //
After adding the first item to your shopping cart, the shipping cost is automatically reduced on each additional item that you add. I typically use USPS Priority Mail flat rate boxes when shipping an order of multiple items and will refund the difference in postage cost, if necessary, once your order has been shipped.
Please send me a message if you have a question about shipping a specific combination of multiple items from the shop. I can also set up a reserved listing for you for all of the items you are interested in purchasing that will reflect an accurate postage cost.
// LOCAL PORTLAND ORDERS //
I love my local customers, unfortunately I am not able to coordinate & schedule local order pick-up times for Portland customers during the fall and winter months. Local shipping costs are typically $3-$8 and I am happy to either set up a reserved listing for you to reflect the exact postage cost of your order or issue a refund for shipping through PayPal if applicable on your order of regular shop listings.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you!
