About

If you don't want that fabric, I'll take it!

My shop is over 5 years old! Etsy is a fabulous platform for sharing my favorite kinds of sewing and quilting and for all the wonderful people I get to meet!

My friends and family know that any fabric store in any place is a magnet for me! I have to see what they have, I have to see what I don't have and I have to see what would make the next pouch, bag, or quilt for this shop or my local craft fairs!

My friends and family also know that I am happy to receive their fabric that is leftover, unwanted or not ever going to make that item for which it was originally purchased. Sometimes the fabric is clothing or handkerchiefs that make great memento gifts for a cherished family member who has died. In all cases, the challenge to create something from these kinds of spontaneous gifts is the most welcome kind of problem that I ever get to solve!

I have been sewing for many years but in these last 5 years, sewing has become a necessary part of my day. I work full-time in admissions for a local private university and spend most of the day on the computer. As soon as I get home, I am drawn to my sewing corner to touch and see colors and patterns on fabrics that will go together in a bright and perhaps slightly unconventional way! My husband is most indulgent and our daughter is grown and out of the nest! Otherwise, I might neglect them both!

My favorite and most popular items are pouches and market bags. Most often I pair new and older fabrics together. And then when the scrap box can't be closed, I sew small pieces together to see how many scraps together to create a new pouch or tote bag.

One day, I want to be home sewing and quilting more!
Some day, I want to use up every piece of fabric in my stash!!
