Who are Pumpjack & Piddlewick? Our life is about wine, animals, geeky gadgets and anything French - Plus the odd find from the archaeological dig in our garden here in France - All act as inspiration for the vintage, antique and artisan items in our shop.
Piddlewick tells you about life in France on our website, whilst Pumpjack is an author and wine maker. We lead a slow living and simple lifestyle surrounded by a plethora of pet ducks, 3 clinging cats, and 2 playful dogs. All whilst restoring our old French house and garden. It can get delightfully busy.
If there is something you like but you think the price is a tad high, make us an offer. We like a good, friendly haggle.

5 out of 5 starsGreat vintage dipping pen nibs, which fit an older wood nib holder I had. I love collecting writing tools and reproductions for my little steamppunk office corner. All I need now is a comfortable chair. It will be the third reading nest in my home. It will also be nice to practice my Spencerian writing chops.

I've checked my photographs and you're quite right, the gold looks far too pale. I think the natural light from my window washes out the colour :-/ Thank you so much for the feedback, and I'll try and correct my lighting :-)

2 out of 5 starsI understood it was vintage, but it smelled of old perfume and was torn in the center. A good 6" tear. Couldn't even use it for the purpose I bought it for.

Thank you for your review Susan. I am sorry to read about the condition of the scarf. As mentioned in our follow on conversation, I do check each item carefully. Such a shame you threw away the scarf, rather than contact me and sending a picture of the flaw as I would have been able to suggest a recourse. For future reference, if ever a customer is not happy with a purchase, particularly if there is a flaw, send a picture right away and directly to the shop so that a solution can be undertaken. It is also better to contact as soon as you can, whilst any issue is fresh in the mind, rather than many months later when it may be more problematic to action a solution. We would always prefer a happy customer.

Shipping
We want the unique item you have chosen to reach you in the best condition, so we try to protect our items as best we can using padded or stiffened envelopes, or as warranted bubble wrap and boxes. We recycle some packaging where possible. We package with the intent that you can reuse the packaging should you wish.
If you prefer your purchase be sent direct to someone else, please message us and let us know the shipping address and any unique message you wish enclosed.
All our items are shipped with tracking from France by regular first class post/mail. Customs forms are required outside the EU and will note the amount, sadly even if marked as a Gift.
Customs fees thresholds vary country to country. Customers are responsible for any customs fees. If a purchase is refused due to non-payment of a fee and returned to us, the cost of shipping will be deducted from the refund.
For our customers in Germany, we are VerpackQ registered.

Shipping, Upgrades & Express Delivery
If your item is small enough (under 3cm / 1 inch), we will send it in a padded or rigid envelope. You may upgrade to have your item shipped in a box if you prefer at checkout. This may incur an additional cost. *The delivery times will be the same*
We do not offer Express or overnight delivery in general, particularly outside of France as the prices start at 99 euros for a Chronopost box and must be purchased ahead of time, negating the speed of the delivery.
Items Sent as Gifts
Marking an item purchased from us as a Gift will include a receipt without a price. You will also have the option to include a special message.
Please note: if we are sending a Gift direct to your recipient ~
All items sent outside of the EU require a Customs form that must state what the item is and its value.
We offer gift wrapping at an additional cost.
We are happy to send your Gift direct to a recipient. Simply message us with the name and address you prefer the item be sent to. Alternatively, you can also provide the name and address instead of your own when checking out.
The tracking number will be sent to you/the purchaser's email so that you may track your gift.
What does Retro, Vintage and Antique mean?
Vintage or Antique means not new / used / second hand / previously owned.
Vintage is older than 20 years and less than 100 years old.
Antique is over 100 years old, eg before 1920.
Retro is a style statement, generally referring to the latter half of the 20th century.
We do our best to describe each item accurately, including any imperfections. We use the pictures to try and show you all aspects of the item. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or request additional photos.

We only use customer information to fulfilorders. We do not store or use customer information for any other purpose. Information such as name, address, and email address is not stored on our computers. If and when required, we will communicate with you about your order status using the Etsy platform.
