About

We learn, we play, we make stuff.

Pumpkin+Bear is on a short vacation! Please feel free to order items while they're still available, and know that I will resume production and respond to Conversations bright adn early on Monday, May 26.

Every weekday, my partner heads off to his day job as a graphic designer, and I get started on my own day job, which is to work, play, and learn with our little girls. We have a handmade homeschool philosophy, in which lots of academically rigorous schoolwork is combined with lots of creative, hands-on time: we finger knit, walk the streets of our town with map in hand, paint everything from paper and wooden blocks to our minivan and our front door, dissect some flowers and press others, and read everything we can get our hands on.

While my girls are jumping in and out of a wading pool that they've filled with dish soap bubbles, or conducting elaborate adventures with their toy ponies, I make the kinds of crafts that fit into our lifestyle...and then I make some more for our shop! Rolled beeswax birthday candles, rice pillows, colorful bean bags--all are duplicates of our own toys and household things that we regularly use. My girls also inspire me to craft things that I wouldn't have been interested in making before they were born. Notice lots of rainbow stuff in our shop? I can't believe that before I had a little kid who loved rainbows, I barely noticed them!

I live in Indiana. I pretend that baking desserts is practically the same thing as making dinner. I garden. I play. I homeschool with my two girls. I spend a lot of time reading. I watch movies while I sew. I play original Nintendo.

If you would like me to set up a listing with an accurate shipping charge just for you, you may Convo me with what you would like to order and your postal code. I'll set everything up, Convo you back with a link, and boom! You can shop without fuss!
Shipping
Unless otherwise posted in a listing or in my shop's welcome message (sometimes I take a little vacation!), my turnaround time for creating your item and putting it into the mail is three business days. If you require something sooner, you may Convo me with a request. Also Convo me if you would like to set up expedited shipping for an order, before you place it. Since I create most items after they're ordered, I cannot accommodate expedited shipping requests that I haven't agreed to beforehand.

Unless otherwise posted in a listing, I ship all my creations by First Class Mail or Flat Rate, whichever works out more cheaply for you. In general, packages take about a maximum of four days to arrive, when shipped anywhere in the Continental U.S., although this is simply a prediction based on experience, since the USPS does not guarantee delivery times, unless you've paid for expedited shipping.
Refunds and Exchanges
You may request a refund of your purchase if I have made a mistake on your order.

I cannot accept refunds on items that you have used, or on items that I have personalized for you.
