About

Steampunk couture in the heart of Melbourne

Punq'd Designs began as a challenge from a friend. I have always been active in the steampunk and fantasy underground of Melbourne, but I never saw the kinds of pieces that I wanted to buy in stores - or if I did, then they wanted far more than I could afford. One day a friend turned to me and said "You can do better than that piece of crap!'. I could and I did.

Three years later Punq'd Designs is still going strong on Etsy, with other 1,000 items of handmade pure whimsy sold. I believe in recycled materials, inspired designs, and providing my customers with quality products at reasonable costs. Also, coming from that far corner of the globe that most online retailers don't want to know about - yes, if a mailman can get to you, then I will ship items to you, no matter where on this Earth you are.

Hi there! I'm an independent artist, hoping to share my designs with all kinds of people who may find them interesting. I'm more focused on the creativity aspect and uniqueness of designs than about producing large numbers of things.

Payment
I would prefer to be paid using PayPal. It's easy and does all the hard stuff for me while providing the buyer some peace of mind in return. When payment clears, I will ship your item(s) as soon as I can get to a post office. I can only cancel orders if you notify me before I have shipped it.
If you absolutely can't use PayPal, send me a message and we may be able to work something out.
Shipping
Shipping will be by regular Australia Post mail. Your order should arrive in about a week if you're in Australia or 2-4 weeks for international. The rates for shipping internationally are ludicrous for registered or insured packages (>$25) which is not worthwhile for most customers. If you need insurance or express delivery and are willing to pay for it, message me and I can quote you the exact price. The listed prices reflect the size and weight restrictions of the post office and there is nothing I can do about it without damaging the items. I try to package things to be as small as possible but some things really just won't fit through a 2.5cm slot.

Customs warning: Some countries apply an import duty on items. These are the buyer's responsibility. Canada is particularly infamous for doing this.
Refunds and Exchanges
If significant damage has occurred to the item during shipping then I am happy to negotiate a replacement or equivalent. Refunds and exchanges for unwanted goods are hard due to shipping fees from Australia, so I would prefer to avoid them. Exchanging an item ordered for another before it has been shipped is acceptable if I am contacted before the item(s) have been shipped.
Additional policies and FAQs
I do not currently have the time or materials to create large volumes of items. I take great pride in carefully crafting items individually so requests for large orders of an item are unlikely to be able to be fulfilled. Likewise my pieces are created using parts from far and wide so requests for duplicates of an existing item may not be possible.
If you have a request for a commissioned piece, feel free to contact me. If I accept your design concept, I'll build it and send you some photos. If you don't want it after that, you agree that I can list it in my shop as another item in my inventory. I do not believe in charging for something unseen, but I expect the same courtesy in return that I can sell it to someone else if you decide you don't want it.
