Making objects come to life
I have been making artworks all my life, but started building puppets professionally in 2009. For me, puppetry is the creative glue that fuses together all my passion for music, art, film, performance and children’s entertainment.
Over the years puppetry has not just become a passion or a way of making a living - it has become a way of life. One that I am more than happy to share with the world in the hope it can bring someone a fraction of the joy that has brought me.
I've had the great privilege to train with puppeteers from all over the world to learn all the different aspects, styles and techniques the craft, such as Jim Kroupa (who built all the original Muppets), Phillip Huber (who did the puppetry in Being John Malkovich), and several other world-class artists.
I have worked in the USA and Australia and have received funding and created projects for the Sesame Street Workshop (New York), ArtsACT, CAPO, National Museum of Australia, ACT NOWaste and more.
Marianne is a puppeteer and puppet maker, artist, musician and performer. Currently, she's pursing her dream and working full-time as puppeteer and maker and has been running her company, PuppetOOdle since early 2011.
Each puppet comes with an adoption certificate, has unique personalities and hand-painted and crafted eyes. Puppets are specially designed to be light-weight and easy to use with beginning performers in mind. PuppetOOdle Puppets make lovely unique presents, keep-sakes or new friends.
Puppets can be lots of fun and help inspire creative thinking, artistic skills, strengthen and build relationships and encourage better communication, confidence and identity.
Please note, puppets may contain small parts and is not intended for babies or young children.
