When I received this copper butterfly ring with the amazonite stone, I was taken aback about how extraordinarily beautiful and well handcrafted this ring is. So much more gorgeous in person than the photo! I really love this ring so much, and I shall treasure it for many years to come. Thank you so much for such outstanding craftsmanship! With much gratitude, Mary H. Fleites

Beautiful, well made necklace. Reminds me of walking in the woods where I grew up. Artist is very nice to work with. I wanted the chain shorter and she did it for me no problem.

About

The Irish Daisy

Welcome to The Irish Daisy!

I work with sterling silver and precious metal clay (.999 Fine Silver), often combining the two materials in one piece to get the best of both worlds.

I go about designing my pieces in one of two ways. Sometimes I have a story to tell in metal, and I search for the perfect stone to complement it. Other times inspiration comes from the stone itself. I like stones that suggest a tale to me, and stones that are little worlds unto themselves.

My two main loves are clay and metal (with wool fiber coming in a close third!). Prior to having children, I worked as a professional potter and ceramics instructor in various art museums and ceramic studios for 10 years. My desire to make silver jewelry led me to precious metal clay which was a natural extension of clay. Eventually my craving for color led me to learn metalsmithing techniques to set the glorious stones I was purchasing and hoarding before I even had the skills to work with them. I work from my home studio here in Massachusetts.

I'm also a wee bit in love with dandelions. I eat the leaves sautéed with butter in the spring, collect the flowers to make wine or salve, drink Dandy Blend daily, and design dandelion jewelry. Hence the name of my shop, which is another name for the common dandelion. And I'm Irish, so it's a perfect fit! :-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
