Jewelry that tells a story..

I believe that knowing how we connect with history and place can give us a better sense of ourselves. Incorporating personal items into our lives that are rich in symbolism, history or myth enable us to connect with the past and make those stories part of our own.

A unique piece of jewelry, chosen for its inherent qualities and the meaning it holds for the wearer is much more than a beautiful accessory or means of personal expression. It can also be a source of personal power because of the feelings it evokes whenever you wear it. I knew I wanted jewelry that held meaning for me, and I believe most people do.

I started The Purple Raven Boutique as a creative outlet in 2012. I decided that perhaps I could make the kind of jewelry I was seeking but could rarely find. I make bold, elegant jewelry for women and men, in copper, bronze, sterling and argentium silver and gold-filled metals. My techniques are rooted in history, but my designs are at home in the modern age. Story and meaning drive my work. I tell clients the story behind each piece, to help them understand what moved me to create it and, hopefully, illuminate what draws them to it.

My home is in Newfoundland and Labrador, a place of rugged beauty, steeped in history and rich in culture. Many of my pieces have been inspired by the stories of this place and my experiences as a part of it. For example, the L'Anse Aux Meadows Collection features Viking wire knitting and chainmail techniques and draws inspiration from the Norse history and their connection to this province. The Dark Side Collection is inspired by the mysterious, gray fog that frequents our shores, And the Story Pendant Collection features one-of-a-kind cabochons each with a unique story to tell.

Returns and exchange details
The Purple Raven Boutique accepts returns and exchanges. If you aren’t completely happy with your purchase, please contact me within 14 days and return it within 21 days of receiving your order. Exception: Please note, there is no return or exchange offered on digital products, customized orders or items on sale, unless they were defective or damaged upon arrival.

Purple Raven Boutique is not responsible for any damages or loss incurred by the customer through the misuse of any store item.
Applicable taxes will be added as required by law. Payment is due within 5 days of your purchase. I will cancel the transaction if I don't hear from you within that time. Buyers are responsible for any import or customs fees applicable.
Digital products: These are available immediately and there are no shipping charges.

Jewelry items: Within three days of receiving your payment, your item(s) will be carefully packaged and sent via international or domestic mail as appropriate.

Custom forms will be completed as required by shipping regulations and any duty will be the customer's responsibility.

Shipping rates listed in the shipping profile are based on Canada Post Expedited Parcel rates for up to two small gift boxes in a padded envelope, with appropriate insurance. Please note that Canada Post has limitations on the insured value of packages so in the case of a large order, your purchase may need to be broken down into smaller packages in order to be properly insured. Shipping via Canada Post Express Post Service or United Parcel Service (UPS) is also possible. Please contact me and your invoice will be adjusted accordingly.

Please note: Delivery charges will be waived for local customers who wish to pick up their purchases. If you wish to do this, please indicate so when you place your order.
