Handmade personalised charm jewellery & accessories

In 2012, I created Purple Wyvern Jewels. My shop name was inspired by my love of fantasy books. A wyvern being a mythical creature and a close relative to a dragon, love sparkly beautiful jewels.

Over time my shop has evolved, so I now specialise in personalised charm jewellery, bag charms and keyrings that hold personal meaning for the recipient including memorial and pregnancy/infant loss creations.

As my items are handmade, necklaces and bracelets can be made to various lengths, to give the perfect fit. If you require extra charms, letters, crystals or are after something specific, do let me know so that I can discuss creating the perfect item for you.

I accept cancellations up till an order is dispatched, and a full refund including the shipping cost will be provided. Please be aware that I only mark items shipped once they have been passed to the postal service. Sometimes it might take me a few hours after an item is shipped, for me to have the opportunity to mark the order as dispatched.

If you wish to return an item, then please notify me within 14 days of receipt of your order and return the item(s) within 30 days of delivery in the condition they were sent out. I will issue a refund including the original standard shipping cost upon receipt. Please note that the customer is responsible for any return shipping costs. Please also note that if you had chosen to upgrade your shipping from the standard shipping, then only the standard shipping cost will be refunded along with the item price once the return has been received.

For international returns from outside the UK, please mark the package clearly with "RETURNED GOODS" and include on the customs form a complete and accurate description of the goods, and clearly mark as returned merchandise. If the package is marked correctly, then I will provide a refund including the original standard shipping price. However, if the package is not marked correctly I will have to deduct any import fees I have to pay from the amount you originally paid, and therefore will only provide a partial refund in that instance.

Due to the reproducible nature of digital products, I am NOT able to offer a refund on PDF patterns/tutorials once you have received your order. However, if you have an issue with your tutorial, please get in touch and I will do my best to resolve it.

If you wish to exchange an item i.e. for a different size, please follow the instructions above with regards how to return the original items. Please note that the customer is responsible for any return shipping costs. Your exchanged item will be sent out once the original items have been received in their original condition.

Please let us know why you are returning an item including information on what you are wishing to exchange the item for.

For UK exchanges we will send out your exchanged item at no extra cost. For international exchanges, we will have to charge a delivery cost before shipping out your exchanged item.

Faulty Goods may be replaced, repaired, fully or partially refunded. Please contact me before making any faulty goods returns. I will agree a suitable course of action which may include the return of goods at my cost or alternative action that does not require the return of goods. I will not refund postage costs for unauthorised returns.

I exclude responsibility for any damage caused by wear and tear, excessive stretching, cutting, abrasion, incorrect care, heat, prolonged exposure to sunlight, exposure to water, chemicals, staining, unauthorised repair, heavy wear, rough handling or other inappropriate actions.

Orders will be sent via First Class. Royal Mail aim to deliver within 1 - 3 working days to a UK address.

Orders will be sent via tracked Airmail. Typical delivery timescales are:

Please note that these are only estimates and delivery times can be longer. It depends upon your local postal delivery service and on customs clearance times as well.

Agreed Time for Delivery of Goods (as per regulation 42 of The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013) shall be:

Each semi-precious gemstone by their very nature is unique. The patterns, markings and colouring will differ between the same type of gemstone. Please note that minor imperfections may exist as they are natural stones.

>>> Jewellery Care <<<

It is recommended that any jewellery should not be worn at night, not got wet e.g. not to be worn whilst swimming, showering or exercising and isn't cleaned with any chemicals.

To help reduce tarnishing of the sterling silver, it is recommended that the jewellery is contained in an airtight container, such as a resealable plastic bag when not in use. If the sterling silver does tarnish, a silver polish cloth can be used to remove the tarnish and restore the shine. (If giving as a gift, please keep it inside the plastic resealable bag it arrives in until you are ready to gift the item, as keeping it in the plastic bag will keep the sterling silver from tarnishing.)

It is recommended that stainless steel jewellery is stored separately from other items when not in use, as whilst stainless steel is durable it can scratch. If the stainless steel needs to be cleaned, then a damp cloth with gentle wiping should normally suffice otherwise, some water with some gentle dishwashing soap can be used to dip the cloth in before gently wiping. Always wipe in the direction of any polish lines and make sure that any soap residue is removed and the item is thoroughly dried.

It is important that any macrame jewellery is NOT made wet, by wearing in the shower (for example). Whilst the colour should not run, this cannot be guaranteed. Plus, there is a risk of the jewellery item being damaged by getting wet and coming undone. The glue used on the macrame jewellery to glue the ends of the material is water resistant, but not waterproof.

As with any plated jewellery, the plating on the silver plated jewellery I sell will wear off with time and wear. The jewellery should not be cleaned with any chemicals as the chemicals can remove the plating. If you do need to clean silver plated jewellery, then it's best to do with a dry or slightly damp cloth and wipe gently, vigorous rubbing will wear the plating away.

Please see the pictures on the product item listing to see how that particular item will be packaged. Some items are packaged in an organza gift bag and others are shipped in a cardboard gift box and then they are shipped inside a protective padded envelope, such as Mail Lite or Jiffy.

The personal data collected depends on how an individual interacts with Purple Wyvern Jewels. This may be by viewing my Etsy shop, contacting me directly, interacting via any of my social media, completing a survey or purchasing a product. The majority of personal data is passed electronically to Purple Wyvern Jewels by other companies and therefore these companies will have access to that data too. I have therefore split this information up by how I receive personal data:

Occasionally I will receive personal data directly from a customer. This is typically when a product return has been initiated and a customer has provided their name and other personal details when returning the item for a refund or for an exchange.

Any personal data that is in paper form will be shredded before it is discarded. As information in paper form is typically related to an order, due to legal requirements for UK income reporting, this information will be kept for a significant time period. Please see the "How To Do I Make A Personal Data Information Request & Request For That Information To Be Deleted?" section below for more information.

I use Google Analytics to see how viewers browse my Etsy shop. I look at general trends of viewers rather than at an individual specific level. The type of personal data Google Analytics collects is:

Google Analytics doesn't currently have the ability for me to be able to delete an individual users data from the information collected. However, they do now allow data to be automatically deleted after a chosen time period. As I look at general viewer trends from this data, it's useful for me to have a decent timeframe to see how that usage changes. However I realise that people do not want that data to be held indefinitely, therefore I have enabled automatic deletion as follows:
> The data held within my Google Analytics account has been set to automatically delete after 26 months.

I receive automatic emails with regards messages sent through Etsy's messaging system. The type of personal data that I receive through these types of messages are:

I also receive automatic emails when a customer places an order with me through Etsy. The type of personal data that I receive through these sales confirmation emails are:

Any direct emails, emails generated from Etsy's messaging system and sales confirmation emails will be kept until such time as deletion has been requested or when I automatically carry out my yearly personal data deletion process. Please note that due to legal requirements for UK income reporting, emails regarding orders will be kept for a significant time period. A request can be made at any time via email ~ victoria [!at] purplewyvernjewels.com. Please be specific as to whether you are making a personal data information request, or whether you are making a personal data deletion request.
> Under GDPR rules, I have one month to reply in full to any request.
> Replies to requests for personal data information will detail what type of personal data information I hold about you.
> Replies to requests for personal data deletion will detail whether I had personal data information about you and confirm whether that data has been deleted. Please note that not all personal data deletion requests will be fulfilled. Any information pertaining to an open order will be kept until that order has been completed, plus order information will need to be kept for a time* for me to fulfil my legal requirements for reporting of income to the UK tax authority.

* Records of income for a UK business need to be kept for at least 5 years after the 31st January submission deadline of the relevant tax year. If no deletion request is made sooner, I will delete any paper records and email containing personal data information in May, for the appropriate reported tax year. (For example, if a purchase is made on 6th April 2018 at the beginning of the tax year, that information has a submission deadline of 31st January 2020. That data would then need to be kept until 31st January 2025.) This means that personal data could be held for approximately 7 years. By setting a yearly time period to delete data that is no longer legally needed, and including deletion of any other personal data that I received for the same time period, ensures that I do not hold personal data information indefinitely.
