Found lots of this old green crest or wave pattern. The wide border has presence on the table - and very well priced:-)
Found stacks of Sudan produced by Shenango China in 1954. In new condition. Lots of new things. Summer means auctions and markets . . . Fun.
These vintage mugs were a WOW when I spotted them. But when I flipped one to identify the maker, I was really surprised. The old Fort Steubenville stamp dates them from 1930.
Perfect for summer. I think they are tall mugs for lemonade.

About

Antiques and Vintage Furnishings, Fashion, Books and Curiosities in Athens Ohio

We collect antiques and vintage home furnishings, fashion, books and curiosities steeped in the colorful history and beauty of Athens, Ohio and its place in Appalachia. Our name Putnam and Speedwell signifies the balance and harmony between nature and community.

We imagine Rufus Putnam was impressed by the abundance of flora such as Speedwell. Natural resources like clay, coal and river ways attracted potters from across the Atlantic. They built kilns and potteries throughout the Ohio River Valley quickly crowned the capital of pottery. This history is present in our collection; each piece has a story wrapped in mystery. Each new discovery opens the door to research and exploration of a past present in the woods that we roam, streams that we follow in this place we call home.
We love to tell stories about each of our discoveries. We hope they bring inspiration and pleasure to you . . . and most of all, we hope to hear your story.

As an historian, I find the past present. After academia, I collected fragments of culture. Each object told a story; weaving together stories revealed the unique connection between pottery and Appalachia. Please enjoy this cabinet of curiosities!
