We ordered the mottled green/blue and opted to add a nameplate (in shape of bone). The bowl is beautiful! It is good quality with a heavy, solid base. Best of all it has truly slowed down my quick eating retriever. He used to gobble meal down in under 15 seconds, and now it takes him 2-3 minutes. Susan was easy to work with and very responsive.

About

I'm doing what I love...and totally loving what I do!

Pottery found me through my children, although I've always loved to play in any form of mud.

Since embracing the challenge of working with this medium, I’ve experimented with hand building, making my own molds, and extruding; but I always come back to the wheel because – let’s face it – throwing pots is just so much fun!

I work primarily in stoneware and porcelain fired to Cone 6, and occasionally in low fire clay. I enjoy making pots that serve a purpose and do so beautifully. To me, aesthetics and exquisite craftsmanship are as important as form and function.

At least 10% of all my sales benefit my favorite non-profit, For Pete’s Sake, helping to provide respite vacations for adult cancer patients and their families. During the month of April, I donate a larger percentage of my sales to this wonderful cause.

I am grateful to everyone who has encouraged me and helped me to pursue my passion, for every instructor who has answered my endless questions, for every customer and prospective customer who has appreciated my work and provided valuable feedback, and to you, for taking the time to read my story.

Thank you!

I love to make pots, and nothing gives me more pleasure than knowing somebody is enjoying a piece of pottery I made. Functional or decorative - it really doesn't matter - I make them all with infinite care and attention to detail.

I hang out with Mom a lot in her studio, and occasionally remind her to come outside to get some fresh air and play with me. You know what they say about a dog's life? Yep...it is tough, but somebody has to do it!

I watch out the window every day so I can let Mom know when the post man carries away her packages. I also keep an eye on the clock so she'll remember when it's time to take a break to feed me or to play with me and my sister.

Frequently asked questions

What are your Shipping & Handling fees?

I charge $3/item for packaging fees, with a graduated scale for multiple items shipped together to the same address.

Orders with one or two items: $3/item (a lidded vessel sold as one item counts as one item)

Orders wtih three items: $8/ package

Orders with more than three items: $8/package PLUS $2 / each additional item.

These fees help to cover the high cost of bubble wrap and peanuts, which I use to make sure your piece(s) arrive safely on your doorstep.

Thank you for your understanding!

Will you refund shipping overages?

Absolutely! Any time there is a difference of $2 or more in what Etsy calculates as your shipping fees and the total of what I actually pay for shipping / insurance plus the packaging fees noted in my policies, I will automatically refund your shipping overages. You don't even have to ask!

I'm not perfect, though, and sometimes I forget to go back in to do it; so if you feel you should have received a refund for shipping overages and did not, please contact me!
