Resizing: for as long as I can remember, I have offered a no charge resizing policy for new purchases. Recently, there have been many requests for resizing items I made years ago, purchased second or third hand on one of the swap boards, and even items made by other sellers. To avoid being tied up with free services that take time away from regular orders, there will now be a resizing fee for items sold over 30 days and those not purchased from my shop of $14 US plus current applicable return shipping.

~ GENERAL ALERT: ~
If you're new to etsy, there's something you should know.....
Most etsy sellers operate their shops with honesty and integrity, hoping to build a long term following based on the quality and uniqueness of their hand made products. Then there are the unscrupulous vendors commonly known as 'copycrafters' or 'pirates' who attempt to defraud for profit by copying other seller's designs and selling them as their own. These copies are often inferior, as the pirate rarely has sufficient knowlege of functional elements or material quality that went into the original design. POLICY UPDATES

This shop's mission is to provide the finest quality possible in terms of functional performance, structural integrity, design innovation and fairness to everyone. If you agree and won't settle for less, please be patient and take a moment to become familiar with shop policies.

International shipping and insurance - see shipping policy below.

Has my order shipped yet?
Please check your etsy order status on your order page - when an item is marked shipped, it's on the way.

Forgot to include a length preference?
Incoming orders without a choice of length go on hold to keep their place in shipping rotation. This allows the buyer to provide the information at a later time without starting off as a new order.

Packaging
I once lost a customer because she didn't think her order should be plainly wrapped like "a piece of fish". It's hard to resist all the glitz and glitter of fancy packaging, but all that costs more. I use upcycled bubble packaging, outdated priority materials and plain old cardboard wherever possible to get your order to you undamaged, and at the lowest rate possible.

Accepted payment methods

Payment
PAYPAL

Etsy's checkout currently charges a shipping fee for each item ordered and paid for separately . (Individual shipping fees can't be refunded as paypal adds an extra fee for that.) To take advantage of the multiple purchase shipping discount, please try to include all items together and make a combined payment when finished shopping.

Please remember to include your choice of length with your order!
Shipping
Domestic (US) packages are currently shipped via USPS first class mail at $4.00 and include a tracking sticker. No fee for additional items.

Everywhere else: First Class International mail at $8.00, insurance not available. *(see insurance option below) Import duties, taxes and charges are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in the item price or shipping fee. For more information, visit USPS.com.

*Insured International Packages.
The USPS offers insured packaging to most countries that accept the CN 22 customs declaration form (green sticker). However, you must upgrade from first class to their Global Express service which starts at $34 USD. This package carries an automatic loss/indemnity value of $100 USD and up to $200 for a couple of dollars more. To insure a package, just place your order normally, include your choice of length, and add EXPRESS in the message box. I'll send a separate invoice for the difference to include the express and insurance fees.

Neither etsy nor it's shop owners can assume responsibility for the efficiency of foreign mail services. Once a package leaves the USPS system, the destination country becomes responsible for tracking and delivery. Thus, international shipping is done entirely at the buyer's risk. In the event of a lost package, I can only track delivery status to it's final US distribution point. I can also provide a customs form number that may be used by the buyer to track delivery progress within the destination country's system. However, a lost package must be reported within 30 days of the shipping date, as the USPS discards tracking information after that.
Refunds and Exchanges
Your complete satisfaction is guaranteed - as with everything I make, if you're not satisfied with an item for any reason, you may return it for a full refund. Exceptions: orders without choice of length specified, obvious damage beyond normal use.

A word about feedback.
For most etsy sellers, receiving a negative feedback entry is usually the result of the buyer not having read a shop's policies before ordering. Otherwise, every conceivable effort would have been made by the seller to correct a problem. Please try to work with the seller to settle any issues as most problems can be resolved amicably.
Additional policies and FAQs
Here are a few basic FAQ's about shipping and other common issues that may help to clarify some of the confusion about the wonderful world of e-trade. More will be added over time as issues arise, and your input is always appreciated.

Q: I'm a US customer. What's the lowest cost way to ship my order?

A: Combining multiple items in a single order is always less expensive, but you must make a single payment for all items at once to get the checkout function to eliminate per item shipping fees.

Q: I'm an international customer. My country's mail system seems a bit unstable lately, with longer than average delays and an occasional loss. What's a safer way to ship my orders?

A: The USPS offers insured packaging to most countries that accept the CN 22 customs declaration form (green sticker).

Q: I'm an international customer. My country's mail system is usually stable, but lately there have been longer than average shipping delays from you. Buyers in other areas of my country report no problems at all, and there have been no unusual delays from other sellers.

A: There are many different distribution routes, processing and collection centers and ever changing regulations for every mail system. Sometimes it's a customs issue. Problems are generally not tolerated for very long - someone within the system will eventually correct them.

Q: Hey, I placed an order and paid for it forever ago, but no package yet. What's going on?

A: One of several things. To be fair to everyone, all orders are completed and shipped in the order they arrive. If your order included a custom length item and you forgot to specify your choice of length, your order automatically went on hold until the information is provided. Bearing in mind that taking the time to send out reminders would only cause longer shipping delays for everyone, please check your order details to be sure your choice of length was provided.

Q: Your 'shop policies' page says that any number of items can ship together in the same package. I ordered three items, but they arrived in separate packages. What's up with that?

A: Checkout works like this:
If paid separately, each item may ship separately as etsy's checkout will apply a shipping fee to each item ordered. If multiple items are paid for together, the shipping discount kicks in. Post-payment refunds are not available, since paypal charges an extra fee for that.

Q: You say you're a custom shop, but you don't do custom orders. Please explain.

A: Most other sellers make items at fixed lengths, prepackage them, and post them for sale ready for shipping. I offer custom lengths for many of my designs, so they must be made to order as orders arrive. Also, part of maintaining internet presence includes the ability to post a certain number of new items each week. For now, I take 'suggestions' and try to fit them in wherever I can.

Q: I emailed you a few days ago with a general product question, but you didn't respond. Why?

A: Emails are answered in the order they arrive regardless of context. Sometimes 8 out of 10 emails (2 or 3 pages of them) relate to advance preview requests, custom order requests, shipping queries, and other issues that would otherwise be answered by reading the listing terms and shop policies. This can quickly use up the time I set aside daily for answering product questions. Always playing catchup!

Q: I placed an order three days ago, and emailed today to find out when my order will ship. You didn't respond....did I offend you in some way?

A: Not at all. A surprising number of new customers don't read my listing terms or shop policies, and often expect the same arrangement as with other sellers who sell finished products. Fortunately, most of the time they go back to read the listing where general shipping questions are answered.

Q: Help! I waited for three weeks for my order to arrive, but it hasn't yet.

A: If your order hasn't been marked as shipped, here's what likely happened:
a: you forgot to include your choice of length for your item(s) so your order is on hold.
b: I made a huge mistake somewhere along the line for which I humbly apologize. Fortunately, I haven't made one yet that wasn't correctable.

Q: I ordered an item, then after a couple of days, decided to change it to something different. Er....will that be a problem?

I don't mind a change in length, but please don't order one item and then switch to another. Changing materials and styles is like a different order altogether......enough of these in a given week would hold up the entire week's process. That's why mid-stream length changes go back into rotation to be fair to everyone.

Q: I know you aren't doing special orders just now, but I saw an item you made a while back and I want one! Just between us, can you reproduce it at some point and let me know when it's ready?

A: There are several reasons why I can't, but most important.... all must be fair to everyone. Some designs get lots of requests...I couldn't possibly make enough of them to deliver in a realistic time and still get regular orders out.

Q: Help! I ordered an item I thought would be perfect, but it's too long for me. Can I exchange it?

A: If you're happy with the item except for it's length, most new item purchases can be returned for resize at no charge other than return shipping - just email for details.

Q: I've seen some unusual and sometimes freaky designs you've done that appear on various special interest sites around the 'net, but I never see them available in your etsy shop. Why?

A: Some designs are experimental in nature, some turn out to be too labor intensive to be practical, others are examples of products designed for an entirely different market .

Q: There are always common issues that aren't covered here. I want to address one of them, but I'm not sure how.

A: You're not alone! All we can do is share information and offer solutions when we discover them. Feel free to email your concerns and ideas!
