Queen Bee Honey Products is made up of me Stephanie, Paul ( my husband) the bee keeper, and currently about 32 bee hives.

Paul is a very successful and talented photographer. He grew up in photography with a dark room in the basement, and a father who shot weddings on weekends and worked for Polaroid in the good 'ole days. Paul shoots many weddings and events throughout the year, he wasn't looking for another job, but once the seed is planted , look out!

I would never have thought I'd be creating honey products! I went to art school and graduated with a degree in painting which I still do exhibit and show, and grew up with a fear of stinging insects! I have a good reason for that fear having been chased around the house when I was quite small by a hive of hornets!

This all started back in 2004 after Paul and I had been dating for about 7 months and things were getting serious! My father has a beautiful piece of property in Pembroke Massachusetts where I grew up. He plants a very large garden every year that is surrounded with many fruiting trees and bushes and a large forest behind. There is a beautiful pond at the end of the driveway and many vernal pools in the woods. It is a piece of heaven! Paul had a friend who kept bees and he had always wanted to try it himself. This was the perfect spot and as Paul always says, opportunity only knocks once! He took a bee keeping class over the winter and in the spring got his first hive. We both learned a lot about bees that year and in the fall had our first taste of pure gold!

Now what! Paul thought we should create some honey and beeswax items and put a Christmas basket together to give to friends and family! Coming from an art background, I had the drive , the interest and the love of experimentation so I let my creative juices flow. First I started developing the lip balm. The computer was a great tool to learn in making everything. Like with most recipes, you need to try it first and then fine tune it to your liking. My family and friends were the testing ground for everything I made and come the fall I had created 4 different beeswax lip balms, a honey soap, 3 kinds of honey roasted nuts, and beeswax votives. Our beehive basket was born and ready for the holidays!

Each year I added more to my repertoire, trying infused honey's with organic flowers, and developing lotions with honey in them. There are so many amazing health benefits to honey and beeswax. I found my products far superior to anything I could get in the store.
Eliminating dry spots with lotions, healing cuts with our healing balm, and relieving a life long problem of seasonal allergies are just a few benefits from the honey and beeswax.

We started doing farmers markets in 2008 every spring through the fall and always have samples of honey to taste and lotions to try! If you are ever in Massachusetts, check us out on FACEBOOK to find out where we'll be at. Give our products a try, you won't be disappointed!

Thank you for checking out our shop!
