Comfy bum, Feet up, with a nice piece of cake and a wonderful cup of tea.

It all started with my lovely mum, she used to make our clothes when we were young, I was the last of seven, so hand-me-down where my best friend. This gave me a love of clothes and the skill to take things in and the know-how to make do and mend. My mum she was a bright star and would love to bake up a storm, with her warming westindian rum cake in hand she would bring a bright smile to our little faces;-)

I loved watching my mum turn her had to all those wonderful thing in the home, this made her my hero. The products that I create are all because of my mum. She put so much love in the things she created, my favourite was always her cakes.
Because she wanted to create a comfortable home for us, her actions and passion have inspired me to create homeware products.

Quilting Mafia was founder by textile artist Elizabeth Oniri, it came about because she was faced with a small sink filled with a large pile of dirty dishes, her pet peeve (smile) unable to face it she decided to find ways that would encourage her to do the washing up and enjoy it. She has always had a passion for all things textile and wanted to use that passion to overcome her lack of enthusiasm for domesticity. So the first luxury tea cloth was born and she has extended her range to art cloths, table cloths (not wanting to clean up after guest) wall hang (to hide marks on the walls) cushions (because the sofa was getting old) and fabric post cards to send to love one’s. All pieces are handmade and are one-off's made from recycled, new and gifted fabrics. All pieces are either made using a sewing machine or by hand. I tend use’s nature fabrics to create just because I loves the way in which they feel and respond to manipulation. I must admit that sometimes I do use man made fabrics they are usually vintage fabrics. I also runs workshops in schools and museums and accepts commissions.

My shop carries a selection of women's accessories and homeware each are handmade and done by me. I incorporate subtle understated details into the design and use only natural, quality fibers from around the world. One day I hope to include limted edtion ceramic pieces to my line.

Orders generally take 2-4 weeks to make before shipment. This time frame may fluctuate depending on my current workload. Please contact me if you'd like something a little earlier to for an event or special occasion. Ready made items will be posted within 3-5 business days upon receipt of payment.

Orders are sent through English Post via Airmail. To minimize shipping cost, I try to package your order to fit within the English Post guidelines and mailed to you as a Letter, otherwise it will be sent as a Parcel. I will inform you through Etsy conversation once your order has been shipped. Expected delivery time for international orders is approximately 4-10 business days and up to 5 business days if you live within English Delivery times this maybe extended if you live in Europe or during festive seasons like Xmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day etc..

International parcels may also be sent via Airmail at a more economical rate. Delivery time is 2-3 months. Please contact me for a quote. This service is not available to New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.
