About

QuiltsFor11Q connecting people one stitch at a time

Many years ago I sat in my great grandmothers nursing home room & helped her get yarn out for her afghans. I was 3 years old and she was nearly blind. This began my love of crafts although I didn't remember this until I was told many years later that that's how I also learned my colors!
Fast forward 7 years and my family and I are on vacation in Lancaster County, PA. My mother was looking to buy a quilt & realizing she couldn't afford a small table runner priced at $300 she decided she'd teach herself to quilt and do so at less then half that. And so she did....and so did I! I began piecing quilts by hand & quilting them by hand at age 10 & haven't looked back.
Most items at that age I gave away or put out at yard sales. As I got older and mom was more experienced we began selling at craft shows.
Fast forward another 8 years and I was a stressed out college kid looking for a fun yet cheap way to de-stress. I had seen other gals on campus crocheting & thought I'd try. Once I got a feel for how it works it stuck.
Since the birth of my daughter I have had to stop the craft show "tours" but still love quilting and crocheting. This is how I came to looking for ways to sell what I love to make on Etsy and naming my shop.
Between my love of quilts and the love of my daughter who's affected by an 11Q disorder, QuiltsFor11Q was born.

I've also set up an 11Q Conference Fundraiser below:

Shop policies

I do accept custom orders on afghans and quilts. Feel free to request a certain color or pattern if you do not see what you're looking for.

All of my quilts are made by hand. This includes piecing and the quilting process. NO sewing machines are EVER used, EVER!

This means the larger the quilt is or the more difficult the pattern is, the longer the time it takes to make before the finished item is shipped. Once ordered I will be updating you on the progress as much as possible.

If your quilt, crib size and larger, is needed by a specific time, please state so BEFORE ordering! Generally these size items will take a MINIMUM of 6 weeks. Larger quilts will take even longer, as much as 12 weeks.

Larger quilts will take even longer, as much as 12 weeks. Also, please keep in mind I have a special needs daughter that, as of December 2013, has had numerous hospital stays. Each stay can, & will, generate at least a 1 week delay.
