Within you will find a variety of illustration and accessories, all designed with humor, honesty and prayers for strength and sanity. Over the last six months I also wrote and illustrated my first book, "You Are The Sky" - a poem/picture book inspired by my own kiddos - created to help the reader process their big feelings with a sense of peace. Although I originally wrote it for my sons this book has come to be calm medicine for adults and children alike - available for purchase below. The Cliche Bluejay

I began my shop in January 2009.
My shop has known a couple of other names (Madame Platypus, Rachie Jenn Originals) ... but now it's The Cliche Bluejay. I think I'll keep this one.

My work is a combination of words and illustration that either float through my imagination - or occasionally I hear or see something that sparks an idea. I make these images in to cards, prints and pendants. I create images with the intention of either helping people to feel good about themselves, to make people laugh, or to aid people in communicating a feeling they can't name. My number one function on earth is to be a healer, when I am drawing or doing massage therapy or mothering or whatever - that is always the most important thing.

Sometimes people think the words I choose are too "adult" or "sweary" however I am of the George Carlin mentality, that there are no "bad words" and sometimes there is no better word to use. Expletives have purpose. I draw nudes often (even the animals I draw are nude. ha.)

I did write my first children's book last year called "You Are The Sky" about letting feelings pass through you, but not define you. I am working on a new book call "The Day I Gave My Monster A Name"...

One of my biggest influences is Shel Silversteen. I also love Klimt and several comedians.
