Returns and exchanges
I accept returns if your not satisfied with your purchase (and my apologies!). Please contact me within 7 days of receipt, and I will give you instructions. Exception: custom-worked pieces are not returnable.
[ Domestic ]
My default shipping method is United States Postal Service (USPS) First Class Mail. Domestic (within the US) rates start at $3 and $0.50 for each additional item. Your package will be shipped via Paypal shipping.

[ International ]
My default international shipping method is United States Postal Service (USPS) First Class Mail. International rates start at $5 and $0.50 for additional item. Transit time to international destinations seems to be around 10-14 days. This method does not come with tracking or insurance; incidents of lost packages are, however, extremely rare. While most packages arrive promptly, some take unusually long time to arrive, due to circumstances that are beyond my control. I have seen packages taking over 4 weeks, but fortunately these cases are very rare.

[ Expedited Shipping ]
Expedited shipping through USPS Priority or Express Mail may be available: please contact me.

[ Custom Work ]
I can't possibly anticipate what my customers all want to see in my shop, so it is up to you to let me know! :-) I employ two different processes for custom work depending on the nature of the project:
● Simple custom work
If the custom aspect is something light (say, swapping stones in an existing design), then the order is made as one reserved listing without the photo of the finished work (but usually with photos of reference designs). Please see this example:
● 2-stage custom work
If the custom design involves more complex work, the order is broken down into two Etsy listings. The first one is a non-refundable advance of 50% of the agreed price, put up as a reserved listing on Etsy, detailing the design specifics of the jewelry. When I complete the work, I put up the part 2 listing for the remaining 50%, this time complete with 2-3 photos of the finished piece. After seeing the photos, the customer is given a chance to request one revision, and also an option to decline purchase if she wants to.
● In general, I accept custom work requests judiciously, based on workability of the design ideas and my own time availability. Due to the high risk factors involved, 2-stage custom jobs are accepted for returning customers only, who have purchased from me before and are familiar with my work and my work process.
● Pricing for custom jobs, especially the latter more complex kind, is 10-25% higher than my regular store prices due to extra efforts and individual attention required for the process.
● Please kindly note that custom-worked pieces are not returnable.
● Please understand that I do not provide photos of my stone inventory on request. I do have the biggest stone stash that a single hobbyist girl ever owned (wish I were kidding about this!), and it is much too time-consuming to help my customers pick through them via photos and electronic exchanges. To get an idea of what I might have, please look through my current stock and sold listings.

[ Gift Packaging ]
Your purchase will be gift-ready. Each jewelry piece purchased from Rae's Creations is packaged in a colorful organza pouch along with care instructions. In addition, they are accompanied by a jewelry tag listing the materials, such as "sterling silver" and the names of the stones used. I delight in knowing these things, and I thought you and/or the lucky gift recipient might too. :-)
