Darinka's soaps are amazing. I bought various soups: mocha, coffee, charcoal and loved the smells of them. The soaps make my skin very moist and nourishing. I don't think I'll buy soaps from big chained supermarkets or stores anymore. I gave some of the soaps away as gifts and the recipients loved them. Great stuff, Darinka! Keep up the great work!

My favorite so far and I have almost tried all the soaps. Looking forward for new ingredients!. This one smells great and the oats are a good exfoliating element in the soap.

About

My Story

My soap-making journey started after hunting incessantly for a 100% natural soap that was gentle on my super sensitive skin. I tried everything labeled natural, sensitive skin, even baby products, however after reading through hundreds of soap labels at many grocery stores, I discovered that most of them list nasty, unpronounceable ingredients and fake fragrances that were by no means product of nature. And the worst part is that very few ingredients (mostly petrochemicals) found in most health and beauty products are tested for safety meaning that we, the consumers are left at the big cosmetic industry's mercy.

Tired of dodging the chemical bullet, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started making my own soaps among other natural homemade skin care and household products that my family and friends now enjoy.

Sustainability, honesty, fair-trade and healthy living are big to me. Therefore, all the ingredients I use are natural, organic when available, and locally sourced from farmers markets, community gardens, and the nearby and beautiful forests of Vancouver, Canada.

Join me in my journey of reclaiming the right to natural and safe products, one soap bar at a time.

BEST. SOAP. EVER. My partner and I have tried a couple of them, and we are sticking with them forever (or for as long as you make them). They smell amazing, my skin feels super soft, and I especially love knowing that all the ingredients are natural and sustainable. The minimal packaging is also a huge plus for us. Highly recommended!

I received a set of three Raincoast soaps as a gift from one of my best friends and fell in love with them. I was looking for something like this in the market but wasn't able to find it. I love the delicious fragrance and how my skin feels moisturize after use. Definitely a big fan here!!!

I ordered some soaps as favours for my baby shower and they were beautiful! Including the custom made tag. They're not overwhelmingly fragrant, which I love, and they're so good! Highly recommend them!

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer faster shipping?

Absolutely! Let me know if you need faster shipping and I'll send you options to get your shipment to you in less time

Custom and personalised orders

Of course! Just let me know in advance as soap takes 4-6 weeks to cure before it can be used.

My soap is sweaty or greasy on the top, why?

A quality bar of handmade soap will often “sweat” in humid weather due to the high content of natural humectants. When natural soap sits out in humid conditions, the glycerin in the soap will draw the moisture out of the air and onto the soap.

So the sweating is actually moisture from the air that the glycerin attracts, not moisture coming from inside the soap.

The more humid the environment and the more humectants in the soap, the more likely you’ll experience this phenomenon.

There is nothing wrong with your soap and it is not melting, it’s just the glycerin and other natural humectants doing their job.

Do you test on animals?

I will never ever test on animals. All products are tested on family and friends. :)

Do you use palm oil?

Nope. Palm oil is probably one of the world’s most controversial ingredients due to all the resources that go into its harvesting, processing, and the environmental depletion of the countries that produce it.
There are tons of available and more sustainable options out there so why not used those instead? Be assured that none of Raincoast Soaps will ever use palm oil at all.

The colour in a soap bar I have stored for a while is fading. Why?

All my soaps are made using spices and natural pigments, therefore some colour fading is expected over time. To help prevent the colours in your soap from fading, keep your bars out of direct sunlight.
