Very cute little guy. Perfect little handmade xmas gift for one of my friends for a great price. Would make a sweet stocking stuffer too, I think. - Joy

About

the art of procrastinating

Randamocity began mostly from a desire to do anything but study during college finals.

Miranda grew up in a creative home full of music, sewing and laughter. Being the granddaughter of a seamstress and the daughter of a very patient mother who made all her prom dresses and eventually her wedding dress, it was inevitable she would pick up sewing. Though she didn't go the clothing route when it came to needle and thread, she loves the craft. Her favorite sewing projects are small and can be finished while watching a movie (preferably a classic Meg Ryan flick). She's also developed a passion for creating bags and purses.

While attending Baylor University in the bustling metropolis of Waco, TX she got a call from her best friend, Emily to visit her in her nearby dorm. Emily was learning to knit and Miranda became fascinated with it. As soon as she made it back to Waco she sought out some yarn and needles and taught herself to knit. That first scarf became the best distraction from finals (well, worst if you saw her French grade, ha). That was November of 2004.

She continued to discover her creative side, mostly when a big project was due or the night before a test. Sewing and knitting was just more fun than studying family finance.

Randamocity came about in 2006 when her then boyfriend (now husband) made up the word and Miranda liked it. She adjusted the spelling a bit to fit in her nickname, Randa and has used it ever since. The blog was created in 2008 and things slowly grew from there.

Randamocity now consists of the blog, etsy shop, and a facebook page and is run from Miranda's Austin home.

Randamocity is mostly a one woman show but it wouldn't be possible without a supportive husband, applauding parents, and snuggly pup. They make every stitch worth it.

  • Miranda Wall

    Owner, Maker, Designer

Miranda was born and raised in Austin, TX and loves everything about her art and music filled hometown. She does life with her graphic designer husband and trick performing poodle. When not sewing or knitting you can find her singing with her hubby.

  • David Wall

    Husband

David is the love and support behind everything Miranda does. He's her fresh eyes, theme music, and cheering section when she gets tired or forgets why she loves to create. He's also easily bribed with small knit toys and bacon.

  • Chuy

    Mascot

Chuy the amazingly curly miniature poodle is the official mascot of randamocity. Not only has he perfected the art of being ridiculously cute, he can also do tricks.
