My name is Tara and the adorable Boston terrier in the avatar picture was my dog Rascal. Rascal, who was only 8 years old, recently passed away from cancer. As everyone who knows me is aware, Rascal was a big part of my life and I was devastated to lose him. As any mommy or daddy of fur babies can understand, losing a beloved pet is a very difficult thing to have to go through, especially when you had such a loving dog as Rascal. He was very obedient and well trained, only barked when someone was at the door, never made a mess in the house (well only when he ripped up all of his stuffed animal toys), never got into trash, and was basically a cuddle bug. Rascal loved to accompany me everywhere I went, and he was such a help when I took pictures of my listings, he always did love to jump in front of the camera when I was trying to photograph an item for sale! He loved having all of the attention, and he not only gave tons of love, but he was very much loved in return! While he was alive, I felt that it was only fitting that I named my online store after him, and now that he is gone, I will keep the name to always remember him by. 

A little bit about me, I grew up in an old stone farmhouse with a log cabin addition, built in 1791, which used to be a seminary for the local church back in the early 1800s. It’s amazing that the old house has stood for so many years. When I was a child, I remember my parents and I uncovered small musket and cannon balls in our yard which were probably from The Revolutionary War. (The Battle of the Brandywine took place in our area). I think it is so neat to be surrounded by history! Since becoming an adult, I have grown to appreciate age-old items because these artifacts have not only stood the test of time, but they have carried with them a unique history. I love uncovering the stories behind each object that I collect or sell, and I am a big fan of doing research to discover all there is to know about the items that I come across.

Thirteen years ago, I met my loving husband Shaun Abel, we were married six years ago, and we purchased a small farmhouse of our own that we have been restoring. We have replaced the roof, added electric baseboards (because it had no heat but two wood stoves), updated the downstairs bathroom (still no working upstairs bathroom though), painted every room, stripped, sanded, and stained the hardwood floors, redid the plaster on the ceiling in the living and dining room, and tore up the poor excuse of a deck that was outside and added a nice large patio. All of this we did on our own with some help from my dad. We are a very handy family! I have decorated the house with vintage and collectibles, what my husband calls “Junktiques” and it is looking very lovely. I have a habit of going to yard sales, antique malls, thrift stores, estate sales, and auctions looking for unique items that I can add to my old farmhouse or offer to my wonderful customers here on Etsy! My husband will accompany me on the weekends; we just love looking for vintage treasures! Sometimes all we have to do is look in the attic or basement and we uncover items we never knew we had! 

I offer many vintage finds here in my Etsy store. Collectibles, figurines, old coins, antique dolls, jewelry, hats, purses, home décor and housewares are just some of the many great items that you will find in my shop! I don't accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
I have done my best to describe every item in detail, so please make sure that you have read the items description, examined all of the photos, and reviewed all of my policies before purchasing the item. Please feel free to ask me any questions that you may have about the item before purchasing so that you are confident in what you are buying. I sell items that are vintage, and so they may not be in new condition. Any faults or flaws will be listed in the items description or shown in the pictures.

I will not accept returns on: Glassware, pottery, ceramics, porcelain, bisque, jadeite, (anything that is breakable), dolls, coins, furniture, handmade items, electronic devices, robots, and jewelry, especially fine jewelry. I will also not accept returns for buyers "change of heart", so please make sure you review all of the pictures, description and my policies before purchasing the item. I do not accept returns on the item having flaws, because I will have listed the flaws in the description of the item. I do not accept exchanges.

If an item is electronic, mechanical, or a robot, I will have stated in the description if it is in working condition. However, I cannot put a warranty on the items function-ability since they are vintage items that have already lived a long life.

I take special care in packaging my items to ensure safe delivery. If an item is damaged or lost in shipment, then a claim will be filed with the post office or shipper, and buyer will be refunded once the claim is finalized. Buyer is expected to fully cooperate in the matter of the post office claim for damaged or lost items, and buyer may have to provide pictures of the damaged item. I need to be contacted on the day you receive the damaged item so that a claim can be filed with the post office. Do not wait seven days or more to contact me if your item is damaged or you have not received it. Please contact me the day the item is received or should be received. Sometimes there are shipping delays and I will let you know when you contact me if that is the case. I am not responsible for shipping delays.

Immediate Payment required. I accept everything except check or money order.

In regards to my Etsy shop RascalsRarities and all of my shops listings: I conduct all sales through Etsy via direct checkout or Paypal, and will not do "under the table" deals outside of Etsy. This is where a buyer sends me money privately and I send them the item without getting Etsy involved. Please do not contact me with these types of deals for they will not be accepted.
Shipping
I usually ship within 1-2 business days after cleared payment.

I ship with either USPS Parcel Select, USPS First Class Shipping and First Class Shipping International, USPS Priority Mail and Priority Mail International. The way the item is shipped depends on the weight of the packaged item. If the item weighs under 13 ounces then I will ship with USPS First class shipping, if its heavier then USPS Parcel Select or Priority shipping depending on which is cheaper.

SHIPPING UPGRADES AVAILABLE

International buyers please allow up to three weeks for delivery depending on your country/location.

International buyers are responsible for paying toll duties/import fees/taxes that may occur when the item that they purchased arrives into their country. Seller is not responsible for these charges. These charges are not included in the shipping cost or purchase price of the item. Seller is not able to provide an estimate of these costs because they vary country to country and item to item.

Shipping prices are automatically calculated based on buyers location. I do refund shipping overages of $2.00 or more, if they happen to occur.

Additional policies and FAQs
I can combine shipping on most items but may not be able to do so with certain glassware/breakable items. Please contact me before you purchase the items and let me know which ones you are interested in combining. Please note that the combined shipping prices that come up automatically may not be accurate, so make sure you contact me before purchasing the items that you want to combine so that I can get you the exact costs. If not, then I will refund any shipping overages if they occur.

I will only hold items on RESERVE for you for 4 days. If you have not purchased the item by the end of the fourth day, then the item will come off of hold and will be available to everyone.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.

I normally ship within 1 business day. (2 business days at most).

A business day is Monday-Friday.
