HANDMADE POTTERY makes the best gifts; 🙌 unique, functional and decorative. This isn't your average pottery shop, we make everything from start to finish, no mass production!🤗

Our work features HANDMADE, ONE OF A KIND POTTERY. The photos shown are the actual item that you will receive. If you're looking for just the right gift, a special piece for your kitchen, dining room or shelving, you've come to the right shop! We specialize in original, handcrafted pottery that you can use, gift or decorate with.

We are a family business. My husband, K and I work in our studio that we have built on our property. We take pride in our creations and each item is made with great care. Customer satisfaction is our top priority; we want you to have a 5 star experience! Please let us know right away if there is a problem with your order; we'll make it right!

Our pottery is unique, beautiful and most of our pieces are functional. We use glazes that run to create interesting patterns; all our glazes are mixed by hand using the artist's recipes. The pieces are fired to 2350 degrees making them durable and great for everyday use.

Pottery makes the best gifts for friends, families, teachers and co-workers because of the originality and expert craftsmanship in each of our pieces. Though similar they are all individually handmade, original and unique. You'll be the star of the season; everyone will LOVE their gift!

Nature is our inspiration and we LOVE color!

**We opened our Etsy shop quite awhile ago(2008)thinking it would be easy to run an online business and selling retail at outdoor venues and keeping up with wholesale orders. We were wrong! So unfortunately we didn't do much with Etsy until April 2020. When the pandemic hit all the art festivals we were scheduled to participate in cancelled, as well as our wholesale orders to retail gift shops located in western states National Parks. Some shows are starting to return, but we have enjoyed having this site now and will continue to keep it open.

We create pieces that fit many different decor & styles

Surprise any bride or birthday recipient or satisfy the art pottery and nature lover.

Many pieces have leaf imprints, stylized landscapes and found driftwood attached as handles to vases and jars.

Enjoy looking through our shop; we are excited to have you here!

About RasmussenPottery

Sales 700
On Etsy since 2008
Video summary: Everything we create in our studio is a reflection of what we see in nature and our surroundings. This little video shows some techniques we use and also a glimpse into our world.

K & Kerri Rasmussen, Full-time Artists/Potters since 1986

We opened our Etsy shop quite awhile ago(2008)thinking it would be easy to run an online business and selling retail at outdoor venues and keeping up with wholesale orders. We were wrong! So unfortunately we didn't do much with Etsy until 2020. When the pandemic hit all the art festivals we were scheduled to participate in cancelled as well as our wholesale orders to retail gift shops in several National Parks in the western U.S. Now we are working like crazy to keep our Etsy store stocked. There is a great variety of handmade decorative and functional pottery.

As a husband and wife team we have enjoyed making a living creating beautiful art! Our studio is located in Hyrum, Utah, nestled in the beautiful Cache Valley in Northern Utah. We have raised 5 children while being self-employed artists and now have 11 grandchildren. In a normal year we travel throughout the western states during the year participating in art festivals where we enjoy meeting people and telling them about our work.

One of the things we love to do is incorporate nature into our pieces; namely actual leaf imprints or using repetitive carving and designs to imitate nature. Our pottery is functional and can be used in the dishwasher, oven and microwave. Carving and bold glaze colors are used to enhance the contrast between glazed and unglazed clay.

Our pottery has been carried in several gift shops including but not limited to Grand Teton National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and Red Rock Elements Gift Shop outside of Las Vegas, NV.

These days we are working to keep our Etsy shop full and get back to the art festivals where we love to meet the people who purchase our work. Most of our wholesale has been put on hold for a time.

  • K L Rasmussen

Owner, Designer, Glaze & Kiln Expert

I have loved art and nature from a young age. While in college studying architecture I needed an elective and chose a pottery class. There was no turning back and I switched my major to Ceramics. I have a Masters of Fine Art Degree from USU.

    Assistant, Co-creator, Operating Manager

We met in art class over 45 years ago. After college we decided to go into business full-time and travel to sell pottery. K L needed help and I felt qualified and excited to be his assistant. Along the way I developed my own line of work.

Frequently asked questions
Can these pieces be used? How do you care for the pottery?

All of our pieces that you would consider using in the kitchen can be put in the microwave and dishwasher. Even the oven! Make sure not to heat shock the pottery, ie: taking from a hot oven and placing under cold water or from the freezer to a preheated oven. Never place on a burner or over a flame. We never use lead in our glazes, they are safe and do not absorb or stain.

Wholesale availability

At this time we are not adding more wholesale accounts. Please contact us with any questions you may have concerning this.

What happens if the pottery breaks during shipping?

In the rare event of breakage, you will receive a full refund. Submit proof of damage to us within 7 business days of receiving the package including one image of the broken piece(s), AND one image of the outer packaging box which shows any damage to the box. After receipt of your email, your refund will be processed as soon as possible. Do not discard any packaging or any broken pieces until the refund process is complete.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

All sales are final due to the expensive and complicated nature of return shipping.

Are the glazes true to color in the picture?

We use indoor and outdoor lighting. The glazes are true to color with some variation due to lighting and the computer you are viewing the site on.
