Rebecca Killen Ceramics - providing beautiful blue and white bone china products for your home
Rebecca Killen creates unique products for the home and gift ware market using fine bone china, cobalt and hints of gold lustre all from her studio based in County Down. The collection, inspired by traditional blue and white patterns, is simple in form and consists of functional and decorative bottles, vessels and dishes. Rebecca uses the industrial technique of slip casting, this traditional method involves pouring liquid clay into a plaster mould giving the maker full control over the all elements of the process. The work acts as a contemporary discourse on patterns of the past, with the smooth and fine finish of the bone china providing an elegant foundation for unique surface pattern.
Having graduated from the University of Ulster in 2011 with a BA Hons Degree in Fine and Applied Art, Rebecca went on to complete the BA+1 residency at the University of Ulster and was also awarded a place on Craft NI’s ‘Making It’ 2013-2015 programme based in the Southern Regional College.
