Do you know that feeling when you’re totally immersed in an activity?
Maybe while going for a jog. Or drawing. Or playing a musical instrument.
You lose track of time. Your worries. You become so focused--distractions disappear.
When you’re done, you feel great. Refreshed. Rejuvenated.
It’s called the Flow state. And I think a lot of people aren’t getting enough of their FLOW time.
But it is so important. Our overall health and well-being is affected by the choices we make in our free time.
These printables and other projects will help you, your students, your children, or your clients realize and take advantage of the power of positive leisure in their lives.
As a Recreation Therapist for almost 19 years, I always searched for group and activity ideas for the populations I served. I often made up stuff on the fly or modified activities that my clients thought were lame (actually, they had more colorful words to describe it, but let’s keep this G-rated.)
And now, as a father, I know how important it is for my boys to see beyond the “screens” at all the amazing recreation opportunities out there.
So this is my way to pass the torch and give back by sharing some of my favorite activities, some that I wish I thought of, and some that reflect current times. And we’ll have some other fun stuff and inspiration too.
Check back often as I carve out the time to make my notebook full of ideas into tangible, affordable products.
