I love working with recycled metal and all the possibilities that it brings

My name is Joel Forman and I am a self taught metal worker, knife maker, and blacksmith. I specialize in making new items from old ones, recycling tools, bolts, railroad spikes, and more into useful tools and interesting conversation pieces. I love concepts of redemption and the opportunity to convert seemingly useless items into items with great beauty and utility. I started making things out of metal at about ten when my best friend discovered that we could hammer copper pipes into crude swords and swing them at each other. I've come a long way since then and built my first forge when I was twenty three. I'm still in my infancy in terms of learning, but new techniques, tools, and ideas, are always just around the corner and I love working them all together to create new and exciting pieces.
