About

Redeemed Dust Designs takes things of seemingly little value and turns them into something valuable.

Dust

"Keep it out of my house!" is how most would probably respond to this word. At first glance, the dust or dirt of the earth is not a pretty thing. It is composed of rotting organic matter, it is filled with all sorts of creepy crawlies, and it tracks inside onto our floors.

Take a much deeper look though, and you will see precious roses, inspiring oak trees, and nutritious food crops all growing out of....the dust.

If it weren't for the dust, no plant would survive, robbed of the life-giving components necessary for it to thrive. So, you see, things of beauty rise out of the very dirt that turns up our noses.

I graduated with a degree in ecological science, so I am inclined to take my artistic inspiration from the natural world. I love to create things of beauty out of things of seemingly little value, in the same way that simple dust is transformed into things of incredible grandeur.

I use the term redeemed because I also take great inspiration from my faith in a personal Creator. I have found that studying the natural world points to God's character in so many ways. The dust to design imagery is a perfect analogy of the way He is able to take a broken life and redeem it through relationship with him.

Sustainability and Equality

In any way possible, I support suppliers who care about Fair Trade policies (giving fair wages to their workers) and about utilizing materials that are sourced sustainably from the earth. When you purchase from my store, you are supporting these practices as well.

Welcome to Redeemed Dust Designs! I'm glad you're here. My mission as an artist is to create practical items and pieces of art out of things that are typically overlooked.

Just as tree roots take the dust of the earth and utilize it to create new growth, my goal is to take what is simple and make it something special.

I strive to be sustainable in as many ways as possible. I look for supplies that are not harmful to either the environment or the people through which they have been sourced.
